Can .elf homebrew be installed as a channel on the NAND in some way?

EDIT: Please disregard this thread, nothing to see here. I just feel dumb, I tried moving my .elf channel back to the NAND and trying it again, and sure enough it worked. I must have froze earlier for a different reason, probably had another homebrew app running and didn't realize it. I definitely feel foolish lol.

I realize now that I was thinking of certain .rpx channels that can't launch from the NAND like Retroarch or PPSSPP, and I'm pretty sure there is nothing that can be done about that.

I want to be able to quickboot Tiramisu into SDCafiine, so I created a channel, but of course, I run into the dumb problem: the channel needs to be on USB to boot, but my Wii U can't quickboot into anything stored on my USB drive at this time.
Hello,

did you test with an external hard drive?

Hello,

Yup, connected with a Y- cable, and as I explained, while the channel works on the USB drive, games saved on my USB will not launch from the quickstart menu in Tiramisu, but rather sends me only to the Wii U menu, NAND games however will purposely quickstart. This whole issue is not universal as I explained, so others are able to quickstart USB games, and others have further issues with their USB drive and the quickstart menu in Tiramisu.

Hello friend, I have read your posts and it shows that you know a lot about Wii u, I need your help, recently my cousin and I started to edit themes on Wii U, but he made a mistake, he deleted the men pack folder that is in the location of the themes, I read that you have a complete backup of the mlc files of the Wii U, could you pass me that folder? I would be really grateful to you.

Yeah, like the title reads, is that possible? I'm well aware that we can create forwarders via the Haxchi method, however, they can only be on your USB drive and not the NAND, otherwise your Wii U will freeze when you try to load it. So I know the Haxchi method alone doesn't achieve the desired result, but is there some other way to create a channel with an .elf homebrew to be bootable from the NAND?

If you're curious why I ask, it's because when I quickboot Wii U games from my USB Drive in Tiramisu, my Wii U only brings me to the main Wii U menu. Though NAND stored titles quickboot perfectly. This is not a universal thing, some people have no issue quickbooting USB games, others get an error after the quickboot screen than their drive was disconnected. I'm not sure if anything can or will be done about that. So for the time being, I'm just storing my favorite titles to the NAND.

I want to be able to quickboot Tiramisu into SDCafiine, so I created a channel, but of course, I run into the dumb problem: the channel needs to be on USB to boot, but my Wii U can't quickboot into anything stored on my USB drive at this time.

Seems like if I could convert the .elf to .rpx, it could be packed into a channel with NUSPacker, but from my looking around, that doesn't seem to be easy to accomplish. But I also noticed that the Homebrew Launcher itself is a .elf homebrew, yet that was able to be turned into a NAND bootable channel forever ago. Is it possible to create a channel for this .elf homebrew in the same way the Homebrew Launcher initially was, however that was done?
Not sure if I get 100% your needs because I don't move to Tiramisu as i feel fine with Haxchi... But to convert the .elf to .rpx cannot be possible by some tools , but need to be re-implemented from the coding side.

But to create the channel forwarder of your .elf , you could use the Haxchi method to create it, am I understand correctly for what you need?

You don't quite understand what I need I don't think. I'm already aware of how to make Haxchi channels for .elf homebrew, in fact I've done that plenty of times without issue.

The problem is that haxchi created .elf channels can only load from your USB drive, if you move them to the NAND and then try to launch the channel, your Wii U will freeze and you'll have to turn it off.

Normally not a big deal, but Tiramisu has decided with my USB drive that it will launch all my games no problem, but if I try to quick start any title installed to my USB drive from the Wii U GamePad on boot, it instead just goes to the Wii U menu, while titles installed to the NAND will properly quick boot. This isn't a problem everyone has, so you may not experience this yourself if you try.

So, if there is some way to install a .elf homebrew as a channel through a different means of Haxchi or if the .elf can be turned into a .rpx and then packed with NUSPacker, then hopefully I'd be able to have such a channel on the NAND, work without freezing, and able to be quick launched from the quickstart menu.

Ok, sorry for that, but thanks to give me the input about Haxchi method with .elf that will freeze if you install the channels into the NAND .... I created some of them and installed, but I don't remember if I got this problem of NAND installation / freezing, later I will looking for it....

Oh no worries, no need to apologize. If you do indeed have any .elf homebrew installed as a channel working on your NAND, please do let me know, I'd be very curious what was done to make that happen.

@MikaDubbz I need to disprove you about the Channels installed into the NAND to open the .elf file that will freeze or does't work as from your side.

Because as you can see the NAND memory, in the picture below from my side, I have created/ installed and working the:

1) Spiik
2) Swap DRC-Lite
3) FTPU Everywhere

How were they made? The Haxchi method? And they indeed boot when launched from the NAND? Did you make them? Can you try making an SDcafiine channel and let me know if you can get that to boot from the NAND?

How were they made? I made by my self.

The Haxchi method? Yes.

And they indeed boot when launched from the NAND? Yes, because I used them and no errors happened launching the channels from the Menu.

Did you make them? Yes.

Can you try making an SDcafiine channel and let me know if you can get that to boot from the NAND? I need to try to make and launch it, because SDcafiine I didn't use.

Cool, keep me updated, my haxchi created SDcafiine channel works fine from the USB, but not from the NAND, but if you can have luck creating your own that works from the NAND, I may have to ask for your version.

Awesome, can you share the files? I don't understand what I did wrong with my install to only work from USB, so I'd love your working version.
I attached below.....

Be sure to spell well all the folders/subfolders and file as this:

/wiiu/apps/SDcafiine/sdcafiine.elf

Sorry to jump in the discussion but i have to ask

Did you just use Haxchi to create it? Paid DS Game or Donwnloaded with a fake title?

I have a similar issue as @MikaDubbz, I installed Tiramisu and would like to run Padcon from the quick menu ((so far i open miimaker from menu to load HBL > Padcon and it works fine ✅))

I tried Haxchi (DS Game stored in NAND) with Config File > default=wiiu/apps/padcon/padcon.elf And system crashes everytime ❌

@MikaDubbz If you find a solution for your situation please give a feedback, i want to do the same thing

<< Open Question @MikaDubbz How did you install Haxchi in USB to run .elf files? When i install Haxchi it only allows to install in NAND.... did you just move the game? didn't crash the system? >>

Yeah, after I install the haxchi channel, I move it to USB and it properly loads there.

I'll give this @CrisMod version of the SDcafiine channel a try tonight when I return from work and let ya know if it made any difference for me.
