Hacking Hekate 5.6.5 menu screwed up

I'm relatively new to this but I've got all the things together to start hacking my Switch, which is one of the earlier, unpatched models, already checked the serial code. Only problem is I've gone through several different tutorials, checked plenty of forums, and no one seems to have the right steps I need. To start, I know I don't have a problem with the SD card reader. It's just been wrong formatting issues from outdated tutorials. Now, I tried using an all-in-one pack called HATS and the 1.2.5 set, which has all the updated cfw. But everytime I try to boot into the hekate menu once as I have the stuff on my card and push the payload, I get this garbled nonsense. So I just need to know if there's actually an updated tutorial that I'm missing a step on but isn't going to just pop up in the first few pages of google. I've been working on this for two days now, just trying to get the emuNAND set up.

Edit: After getting help from ROGsamurai, I figured out that the payload is not supposed to be hekate, but instead supposed to be directly from the fusee.bin file. And then accessing the homebrew menu is just supposed to be done from the album.

You don't need a fss0 build pack if you learn to do your own setup

Replace Fusee-Primary.bin in the guide with fusee, and fusee secondary.bin with package3.

Very weird issue. You probably shouldn't use an all-in-one package. It's very easy to do it manually, and safer too. Try this guide:

You should replace all the files your SD with fresh one, probably something wrong with the files, unless there is something wrong with your unit.

Got that done. It booted into atmosphere after injecting hekate, but nothing seems to have changed. I put the atmosphere files on the sd card and then after the inject, there was nothing but the ofw boot.

You have to create a hekate_ipl as specified the guide.

I did. Even made the changes to fusee-primary and fusee-secondary as you said before.
