PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold games for January 2022 revealed

aaaadsadasdas.png

Are you ready to kick off the New Year with a new lineup of games for PlayStation's and Xbox's membership services? Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold subscribers will get a new handful of games throughout January, with Neuro Voider and Radiant Silvergun available to claim on January 1st, and Aground and Space Invaders Infinite Gene on January 16th. While the full list of titles hasn't been revealed for what's coming to and leaving Game Pass in January, Anacrusis, Pupperazzi, and Windjammers 2 will all be added throughout the month.

On the PlayStation side of things, you'll be able to grab Deep Rock Galactic which is new to the platform, Dirt 5, and Persona 5 Strikers starting on January 4th. If you haven't already gotten last month's games, now is the time to do so, before they're gone.

So by the looks of things, they've given up having one title as "only claimable for PS5, despite a PS4 version existing" and just have three games for everyone? If so, that's pretty cool. Good move.

Both Strikers and Deep Rock Galactic are great games, can't vouch for Dirt 5 cause I haven't got to try it but definitely will.

Am I the only one who thought Strikers was a Football (Soccer) spin off when they first heard of the name?
I mean, Mario did it so it's not an impossibility for it to happen. But it didn't.
Is it not?
Not. Persona 5 Strikers could have been a cool arcade soccer game with Persona characters though it isn't.

It's an arcade racer much like Project Cars 3 (better title would've been: NFS Shift 3) so if you go in knowing what it is, you'll probably enjoy it.

PSN actually doing some free games maybe worth considering... granted not football for me and Dirt has not been terribly relevant since before Colin Mcrae died, though I shall have to have a look as I looked across to the xbox set and that new Forza actually looks like something to consider so with my other choice being replay Need for speed paycheque (a shadow of the earlier titles, be it original or first reboot).

Deep rock galactic being co-op as well has me intrigued, though some have said its shooting aspects are maybe not the tightest.

Looks like Persona 5 Strikers is only playable on the PS4, so it looks like the tradition continues, just this time going in the opposite direction.

I just started psn+plus in November, and I must say I'm quite pleased with all the free stuff, including the 20 or so games from the ps4 collection, including God of War, Bloodborne, Ratchet and Clank, Persona 5 Royal, and Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition. they even remind you when the month is up if you haven't downloaded all the games for that month. plus, of course, cloud saving (one of my favorite features among current platforms).

A PS4 version of a game that you can play on a PS5 is better than a PS5 version of a game you can't play on a PS4.

(also, as far as I can tell, Persona 5 Strikers doesn't even have a PS5 version for them to give)

I was pretty sure that any game marked as PS4/PS5 means you get the PS4 version (unless otherwise noted) which is playable on both systems, while if it only says PS4 or PS5, then you're dealing with a game only playable on that device. I know the PS5 is backwards compatible with PS4 games, but I thought not quite every game is compatible which is where P5S stands. At least that was how I interpreted it. I certainly could be wrong.
