Depends on what you have. It’s like asking what kind of car to get. All depends. I roll with a 2TB internal and a 5TB usb. Some roll with an 8TB internal and 18TB usb. Some roll with a single 1TB internal

I think there are around a total of 200TB of ripped PKGs thus far and that number keeps growing

same capacity for me. I've used around 3TBs, maybe a little less.

btw, unless you get like the nyko bank, I don't think you can fit anything but a 2TB or less with an hdd, since it has to be 9.5mm. you can with a ssd, but I'd advise you put your games on an external hdd with extended storage, since it can be used on any other ps4, in case the hdd or system fails. hen will repopulate the games. also, I bought a 5TB, because it at least was the largest unpowered hdd on the market. it's a wd black. you don't need a y cable like the wii u either for both the ps4 or the ps5.

you can get 256gb of ssd on the internal just to load the payload, and use external ssd drive to store your games, to prevent corrupted games in case you get kernel panics

Unfortunately, due to having access to the amount of games, that’s probably why you don’t play until completed.

You will see a load time for games and boot up time improvement with ssd. 2tb is the sweet spot for capacity/price

i wouldn’t go anymore than 8tb as i heard seagate/western digital have rare corruption issues due to the number platters stacked into theese hdd to get these 20tb capacities but this may changed as it been awhile

remember you would need the thinner in size hdd 7.99mm for stock hdd cradle
