PlayStation executive fired after pedophilia allegations

George Cacioppo, Sony's Senior Vice President of the PlayStation Network since 2013, has been fired after allegedly being featured in a video by the vigilante, pedophile sting operation group People v. Preds. A member of the channel had been posing as a 15-year old on grindr and received nude photos from "Jeff", alleged to be Cacioppo by the group, and arranged to meet for sex. In the video, a member of the group approaches a home and addresses the man standing in the doorway, wearing a PS5 t-shirt, as Jeff, and admonishes him for arranging to meet up with an underage person for sex. "Jeff" quickly closes the door and refuses to engage, even as the man threatens to phone the police.

In the description for the video, there is a Google Drive link to screenshots of the alleged chat logs between "Jeff" and the operators of the People v. Preds account. The screenshots show two different conversations, one on October 10, 2021, which did not result in a meetup, and one on December 3, 2021, the day the video was posted and appears to end with them arranging a meetup. In the chat logs, "Jeff" exchanges many pictures with the minor, and in one selfie is seen wearing the same PS5 t-shirt as in the video. He is also aware he is speaking to a minor and provides his address so they can meet up.

In a statement to Cnet, a Sony spokesperson confirmed that Cacioppo had been fired. "We are aware of the situation and the employee in question has been terminated from employment," reads the statement sent to Cnet. Also, in a correspondence with Kotaku, the People v. Preds account claims they released this information publicly rather than simply handing it over to police because "the police department doesn’t work with ‘Cyber groups’ like us. That’s when the internet takes over.” However, since then, the "evidence has been turned into the authorities." There is no news yet of legal action being taken as a result of the sting.

Yeah we should catch him while he is doing it to the boy .... you know just to make sure.

It is sad to see people ends their lives due to 15 min pleasure.
The PS5 old man was using a trans dating site (for adults). He was approached by the so called young pr*stitute...

This should be the work of the police, not a random person. Basically the old man is innocent.

Again, I am not defending him, but what that youtuber's doing is wrong. Look just at that poor man, how they completely destroyed his life:
(BTW : I am straight and I hate p0rn from the bottom of my heart)

PS4 emulator is coming along at least.
Another 50years and only for *unix currently by time it's playable. I think another emulator will beat this one soon tho.

Ontopic: I think he got the motto of the Playstation brand twisted and thought Play has No Limits as if they are above the law.

Perv! Why was Randy Pitchford not fired also? Back in the day there were allegations that his flash drive contained k1ddie p0rn.
Unfortunately, the rules between a publicly traded company and a privately owned one, differ.

In a publicly traded company, such as Sony, this dude will get thrown under the bus as soon as possible to save face for the company.

Randy, being in Gearbox, is a privately owned studio, and thus is under no obligation to be kicked to the curb.

I still hold the belief that Randy will do something so heinous, as to warrant legislation that will allow employees of a private company to fire their boss. And yet Randy will still be happy as a magic trick about it, because the law bill would be named after him as a result. Smug for the fame it would being, and the infamy of being punished with it. He'll just be happy as shit that his name will persist well after leaving the company.

I think this is the wrong way as well.

These people get literally destroyed for things they can't control properly.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty??

Oh I forgot that's where the internet takes over, because everything on the internet is true ...yeah okay I did wonder why police don't work with rouge cyber groups who are NOT the LAW.

If true he will most likely get off because of this wonderful cyber group ...publishing "evidence" on the internet, rather than letting the LAW deal with it!

I don't think anything legal wise will happen to him. I would love to be proven wrong.

He's rich, so he'll probably just move away, since his neighbors will shame the fuck out of him, avoid eye contact, etc. Lucky for him, the internet has the memory of a gold fish, so he'll just fade away into obscurity.

If he's married and has kids(I didn't research enough into it), good fucking luck with that. lol

Not excusing him, if this is all true, but when does things like this falls under entrapment?
This would fall under entrapment because of it being unrelated to a government sting, but even in the wild chance they did try and press charges he could easily seek acquittal because of Grindr being an 18+ adults-only service.
All his lawyers would need to say is that this was fantasy play with what he thought was a consenting adult. Now obviously if he asked to see a photo of his ID with selfies and a date/time stamp, then he'd be fucked.

Oh boy. Pedophilia is everywhere. And it is not going away. Pedophilia exists because of porn movie. Bad influence.

Since pron movie didn't existed a long time ago and Pedophilia already existed since Ancient Rome time. However, Why I said that porn movie is a bad influence ? Because it is growth and it is becoming more and more popular online even its free for few minutes or so. It is increasing in popularity for growth Pedophilia existing now.

Great, now that you said your piece, you can sod off. Thanks. You can stop defending these pieces of human shit.
Pretty sure most people can tell the difference between being sensitive to mental illness and defending the actions of a paedophile. My hunch is that this guy is a sleazebag and not mentally ill at all, but you chose to brand "all people who have this so-called "mental illness"" the same so I take issue with that. Are you uniquely qualified to make such a broad statement about mental illness?

true but prison also need to have psychologist (your still locked up for your crime but being rehabilitated in the process) thats the problem with the US prison system they usually don't work on the root issue of rehabilitation is needed if your mentally ill when getting jailed for a crime best they offer is suicide watch
