Sony announced today the release date for its upcoming remaster of the single-player portions of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, which will release for the PlayStation 5 on January 28, 2022. The latest in a growing number of Sony exclusives coming to PC, the collection will also come to Steam and the Epic Games Store later in 2022. Players who own Uncharted 4 or The Lost Legacy physically or digitally on PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for $10.

I'd be willing to spend the $10 to upgrade Lost Legacy for the best romp through it as I have the disk but never actually spent time with it. Can't say I'm thrilled to but we are talking about games several years old so it's not like they are going to touch them up for free.

The first time I read about this I thought it'd include U1-4 than just U4 and DLC. Still, it's a great start and hopefully we'll get U2 on PC (my favorite of the series). :)

I'm guessing we won't get GT7 on PC, but if they'd release "Gran Turismo: Sport - Ultimate Edition" that'd have real potential.

I mean. Can you read the article OR watch the video? Because both of them tell you what games are included.

Apart from that, I'm glad more people will be able to play these great games. Unfortunately non PS people aren't getting the full story. At least not yet. It's kinda odd to start the series with 4 though.

I agree.

Rockstar kind of did the same with Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC while Red Dead Revolver and Red Dead Redemption are nowhere to be found.

Man, I wish they’d remaster all of them like this.

Neat! For whatever reason, probably lack of spare time, I never finished 4 or Lost Legacy despite owning both. Now I’ll get another shot at it, just better, which is always nice.

Then what's the point of buying a PlayStation console?
Because it’s good value for money - more than adequate hardware for an acceptable price. It’s also plug and play. Personally I’ve always been against the idea of holding software hostage on a given platform. Early access, fair, but at some point it should all be ported to other platforms for more gamers to enjoy. If you need “exclusive games” to sell your product, your product probably isn’t very good.

Sony finally understands that PCs are the future
PCs are very important, however, at least here in my place i've seen a pattern of some people not getting a PC as its function has been replaced by their iOS/Android devices (Not that i agree with that). I think the future is cloud streaming.

In all fairness, to people who have never played the series like me, this whole announcement makes no sense. Two Uncharted 4 "products" + an unnumbered entry that is actully a spin-off of 4, is that it? Because common logic would say that the unnumbered one was actually a remake of 1.

Well, good for the fans anyway...

yeah it's sadly been a thing ever since the mid 10s where people have really started to dump their computers & laptops in exchange for a portable & convenient phone. It makes sense seeing as how all people used PCs for were entertainment via internet, but still really sucks :(
I always felt PCs were way better for communication and entertainment when you don't really want to use your phone.

Xbox proves consoles don't need exclusives and it's good to see Sony following the same footsteps.

Meanwhile, Nintendo relies on exclusives to keep their consoles going. The Switch is something like a PS3/360 so doesn't have the same power as current gen systems.

Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting

Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?

i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling

even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling

LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways

@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero
