A third party HDD doesn't contain the Xbox emulator, you'll have to obtain and inject the emulator partition on the drive with a program like Party Buffalo Driver or USB_XTAF etc.

you can also use partition fixer iirc on the system itself to add in the xbox partition, then copy and paste the hacked compatibility files. you need to enable hddx, which is disabled by default at least with fsd2. if you don't, it will say the transfer was successful, but it won't be.

This only works on JTAG/RGH consoles.
Retail units have no option but to manually inject it with external tools.

Think it will only work with wd scorpio too on a legit system. AFAIK that's the only drive we have the security sector for.
