How do you feel about fan service in anime and manga?
This the theme of this thread.

Personally, i do like fan service. Recently i got very into a manga called Edens Zero.
It's a very cool manga but hell... there's so much of fan service in this manga.
Not that i don't like that. But tbh, there's so much of it that i don't read them in public, or i hide the screen of my smartphone so no one can see it while i read.
There's lot of girl taking their bath together and, oh look a girl stands up in the public bath.
Or a girl with big boobs with a subjective view angle.
There's lot of it in edens zero, but i'm here for the story you know^^

So what about you? How do you feel about fanservice? Do you avoid watching anime or reading manga in public when there's.lot of it in them?
I'm not talking about nudity here, i'm talking about fanservice... big difference...

If it matches the setting and doesn't feel out of place, it's ok.
If it feels forced and takes you out of what you're reading, not ok, meh.

E.g. if you take Edens zero and you take out the fanservice I think it is not Edens zero anymore... that one is about the fanservice, so I guess the fanservice in that one is not only ok but necessary.

It was enjoyable, tbh. Really good animation and quite shameless. Not sure how they were able to put that in broadcast TV though, I mean, that's not just fan service it's 100% funny hentai.
