To all those who have gotten a chance to play Mario Party Superstars. What is your opinion on the game?

I personally think this game is a huge step in the right direction for the series. The personality and charm that the recent games had been lacking seems to be back. Not only that but there is so many small details and just give me so much hope for what the future of the series will bring.

1. I do like the fact that they removed per-character dice. This prevents players from choosing the most OP dice, leaving the rest of the players in the dust.

2. I feel the amount of "flow" of gold is too high in the newer game. Players are finishing with 100+ gold, making it feel a bit too abundant.

3. Allies were nice to have. I wish they still had the ally spot, however you just no-longer get their dice. Instead you still have a chance of getting a 1-2 roll added to your current roll, potentially countering out a cursed dice.

4. Some of the minigames feel waaaaaay too easy. For example, I recall one minigame you just had to tackle the other player trying to reach the end-zone of a football field. This game lasted a grand total of 0.2s before this player was tackled. It feels like the last Mario Party's minigames were more balanced and thought out.

These are my initial thoughts. I need to play the game more with friends to come back and make a more thorough review. But so far, it's fun, and new. Something refreshing, but different.

Yeah I agree that there are too many coins in this game. I think the main cause of this though is the large amount of lucky spaces. Also I honestly didnt like the Allies much as all they did was mess me up more than anything in Super Mario Party. for example I roll the exact number I want using items and then they add 1 to the roll to make me miss my space. Also the fact that they joined in on some minigames was questionable.

They should bring back the character dice or at least give some incentive to pick one character over another. At least in Mariokart, every character provides additional stats to the vehicle but in Mario Party, character choice doesn't matter.

Allies were just unbalanced. They give you more spaces more roll, help for specific mini-games, and access to exclusive dive. If they should bring them back, hopefully they make them more fair.

I will agree that now since everyone gets coins in minigames, they feel less valuable and more pointless since you don't get many opportunities to spend them.

Only problem with character based dice was how horribly unbalaced they were were some were completely useless and some others were stupidly overpowered. For example in MKWii everyone uses Funky Kong and I mean everyone because hes the best.

I wouldn't say none of them were useless or overpowered, at least on their own. The riskier dice that belonged to heavy characters like DK or Bowser may seem useless but when paired with allies who will guarantee you will always move some number of spaces, you can loop the board if you land on a big number.

Yes but there is literally tons of tier lists because some are just literally better versions of other dice.

So? Anybody can make a tier list. That doesn't mean much if there isn't any data to back them up. I know the idea of a Mario Party tournament sounds a little silly but its the only way to vet if certain dice blocks are better or not. Most of these tier lists aren't consistent with each other anyways. Yes all of the dice blocks are not created equal but since the game has such an immense amount of luck in every other aspect, it nearly makes up for the different dice blocks.
