Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition pulled from sale on PC, Rockstar Games Launcher suffers outage

On the launch day of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, Rockstar has pulled the game from digital storefronts not once, but twice, with the second one delisting the game bizarrely with no official reasoning. The first removal of the GTA Trilogy from a digital storefront was due to PlayStation copies of the game accidentally unlocking before the actual launch time--but it was quickly relisted in time to allow players to download the game and play it. The same cannot be said for the PC platform, however.

Those that purchased the game through the only available platform on PC--the Rockstar Games Launcher--found that GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition was not as definitive as claimed, as it suffered from performance problems. Then, it was quietly removed from sale entirely, with the official website even removing any existence of a PC version from anywhere on the page. Following that incident, the Rockstar Games Launcher went down completely, locking gamers out of other online Rockstar titles, such as Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online. Those that purchased The Trilogy on PC prior to the delisting are also unable to play the game they just bought.

Rockstar has not made mention as to why GTA The Trilogy was pulled, though they did state that they are aware of issues with the launcher, with the reason being that the service is down for maintenance.

Okay I lied I’m currently playing GTA III remaster on my PC no issues and no problems I’m enjoying it.

My only advice if you played this over 10 years ago play it for 100% completion.

But is it worth $60 still absolutely not but for $30 yes

I’m going to replay all the GTA games again just to reach 100% completion

People used to hate Rockstar before and praise CDPR, after Cyberpunk 2077 they hate CDPR and start praising Rockstar, now they hate Rockstar again.

Make up your mind guys.

its hard to like both when both companies make it so easy to hate both.

companies which worth millions upon millions dont test they own products before release.

It seems CP2077 messy release was due to the publisher rushing it than the developer being at fault whereas Rockstar fucked it up since the beginning.

GTA Trilogy could have been so much more.

Well before I played it I was a non believer but after I played it on PC with Ultra Settings I enjoyed the game it's a good refresher.

Should they done alot more absolutely but for a remaster it's not too bad. Imagine RE4 HD Remaster and GOW HD Remaster that is basically what you are getting you should expect no more/ no less. I didn't experience glitches or bugs

All in all the money they raked in from GTA V online they should make more games I suggest anyone just grab this once it goes on sale.

Yeah if they could improve the framerate with an update i'd be happy
I overclocked my switch and that stabilizes the framerate at least. There are other issues that hamper the experience. Like Ceasars hands being completely f*cked up in every cutscene he appears in. Also every mission that involves racing is starting to annoy me. The game will often freeze for a second whenever you go through a race marker and it's enough to mess me up in the race.

The thing which is find annoying is the idea that Take Two / Rockstar 'somehow' messed up.

They didn't.

Underfunding development was a calculated decision on their part because they crunched the numbers and felt it was the best way forward.

They looked at the state of the ports and thought 'yep, that'll do'.

Maybe the one videogame-literate person on their board of investors briefly wondered whether criticism from enthusiasts and OG fans would harm sales.. before remembering how miniscule in size those groups are compared to the target market.

Take Two absolutely don't care about quality because at this point they full well know that it has no impact on their short term bottom line.

Also, shutting down / suing devs who are legally reverse engineering decades old software is something only the most degenerate sons of bitches would do.

Pfft, we're all acting like this is the second coming of System Shock or something. It's just GTA, they are boring!!!
Well, tastes can't be argued.

You might like to watch hockey, golf, tennis or soccer and I find these sports particularly boring, but playing them can be fun.

GTA IV is still to this day my favorite even though the map is smaller than SA and V, yet, that never bothered me. Nico Bellic is such a fun character that I hoped R* would've brought him to V, but that didn't happen.

The driving physics was utter shit and killed the game for me. Gave several chances, but it was just boring as fuck.
