I've finally taken the plunge and, thanks to this excellent guide, the procedure was relatively painless (faced a few obstacles because I'm on a Mac...).

Now I'm on the latest version of everything (I don't use Emunand), and I was wondering if there is something an "SX OS" migrant like me should be aware of, now that I'm breathing Atmosphere's air.

As an example: I already know I cannot use .XCI anymore (I'll live), but does Atmosphere also have issues when it comes to (completely) power down the Switch?

Any useful information is very welcome :)

Thank you for all the replies :)
Just to confirm: with Atmosphere, I can (completely) shut down the Switch without issues, right?
Taken from the release notes of Atmosphere 0.8.4

  • Performing a shutdown from the reboot menu now works properly with AutoRCM, and does a real shutdown.
So yeah, it should work as expected. Personally, I always shutdown by reboot to payload (mine is Hekate), and then from Hekate, shutting down. Both methods are ok.

Same here, my v2 SX core switch is sleeping in my drawer for almost a year! Since TX fall.

I want to hack it with atmosphere ,

I want to ask too if can i just download and copy the HATS files from this video to sd card and atmosphere is fully safely installed?

Unlike you... I moved my sd card content to my pc. Some other guide told me to do this since I have to reformat my sd card into fat32.

Now I can't play any of my games after copying it back over to my sd card. I have over 400gb if games... takes 6 hours just to copy it... ugh

My sd is still formatted to exfat. I didn’t even delete sx os files and folders lol I pasted the youtuber pack in sx sd card and everything ran well.

Great to know, thank you :)
Mind expanding on this? I too need to migrate to Atmos and only have a Mac. Thanks!
I've encountered an error when trying to install the Atmosphere files. It was because of the "junk files" Mac OS creates when interacting with Windows (invisible system files which names start with a dot). Once I removed them, the error was gone. The easiest way to clean these up is to use the 'Clean my Drive 2' app from the Mac App Store (free).

No, get the files from Atmosphere GitHub's page.

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

I bet most people at the time still watched it in black and white
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates
