could be blod, but I don't really know what that entails (if it's a blinking blue light or a solid one). I think it's indicative of hardware failure. I don't know how much they've figured out about this, but you could diagnose it with uart, maybe.

most likely there's a bigger problem happening. though, I don't know what the ps4 does when it overheats. think the ps3 would have a warning on the xmb, then shutdown.

afaik, it just damaged the hdd to where it wasn't recognized. I have no idea if a kp or many kp's caused it or not or if it was just a coincidence.

nm, thought this was a different post. no idea what could be wrong your ps4. that's why I suggested uart, but I don't know if enough is known to use uart to diagnose a problem. it requires soldering.

the cpu getting hot is normal. it should feel very hot if you turn on the system while it's open and you touch it, same with the headsink. it's probably in the area of 160 degrees F if not hotter within just a few moments. maybe clean out the fan, dust on the motherboard with compressed air, and replace thermal paste. however, the issue you described sounds like the damage is done. the motherboard may have gotten warped due to heat or the cpu has cracked solder joints possibly required a reball. a reball requires a bga station, which costs hundreds of dollars, so you'd have to send it to someone who does this for a living.

I would remove the old thermal paste, a paper towel and a tooth pick will do the trick. Then apply new like arctic silver 5

it could overheating, but if it goes off in seconds, something is definitely wrong. I've unplugged my 360's fan before to see how quickly it would overheat. it was less than two minutes, then two rings of death, which means overheating. not sure how long it would take with a ps4 though.
