Nintendo Switch Online N64 controller officially sold out until 2022

While the result of the emulated Nintendo 64 games on the Switch might have left fans wanting for more, others were eager to get their hands on a modernized N64 controller. However, if you didn't already get yours ordered, you likely won't be able to get your hands on one until next year, at the earliest. The $49.99 controller is sold out on both the Nintendo US and UK storefronts, with the former noting that while you can't order any for now, more controllers are on the way, and will be available sometime in 2022.

I noticed. It was sold out everywhere when I checked and people are already scalping them for multiple times their value. Bastards.
As far as I could tell, it's not available here anyway. The My Nintendo Store doesn't ship to Norway and there isn't anywhere else that sells it officially that does that I could find. So I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get one.
In order to buy this controller it needs an NSO and be done thru a Switch? Blame your fellow Nintendo comrades as they're the ones scalping.

It's stupid that it requires an NSO to be able to buy it (and via a Switch, if true).

I wouldn't and am not going to buy as I've plenty of stuff for sale on eBay and it's going good.

Glad I bought four. One for myself and three to help offset several hundreds of dollars in car repairs, a raise in my rent, and Christmas gifts for my mother, kids, and granddaughter. If that makes me an evil scalper... so be it.

Got it. Paired up with PC just fine. Played some Duke Nukem 64. Retroarch sees it as a joycon. Kinda weird.

However, it will not pair up to my Switch on Atmosphere.. Even though I'm on the updated firmware and latest AMS. Interesting. It shows up as a Pro Controller.

Edit: Played some OoT and I had to up the sensitivity in Retroarch just to be able to run. Gross.

The build quality is pretty good. It's heavier than a regular N64 controller. To be expected given what's inside of it.

Guys, I'm so sorry but the N64 controller is so ugly. How are you even supposed to hold it? Upside down?

I'll keep using my Gamecube Pro Controller, thank you very much. Happy people are enjoying their purchase regardless.

Other than pure nostalgia there’s no reason to use this rather than a Pro Controller. The placement of the left analog stick, as well as the buttons for the right Analog stick, ewww.

In terms of actual comfort or functionality it pales in comparison to a Pro Controller. 50 dollars for nostalgia and a less comfortable experience….yay?

Anyways I’m hoping for a Saturn pack one of these years. Make it happen, Sega.

Nothing like putting people down over a preference in input, huh?

Edit: I forget that a lot of you choose some of the dumbest things to be petty about.

:rofl2:

Of course the controller's already sold out, that's how craptendo works, always make less of something so the demands spikes up like crazy.
Now I want one.
And that's how they getcha.

And to them people here defending this pos controller for various reasons, 'cus, yes, imo, this controller is total shite: Don't you think that, maybe, you know... you guys are in the wrong?
But to each their own, I suppose.

c buttons, octagonal gate

How are C-buttons better than any other button? The octagonal gate is actually a downside.
One advantage? The proper ergonomics in playing N64 titles. Especially in games like Tony Hawk or even certain FPS titles like Turok or Duke Nukem Zero Hour.

The GameCube controller is easily one of, if not THE best to use in Smash Bros. The way the combat system and controls work make it more fluent and comfortable.

Still, it all boils down to preference. If you're that intent to use one type of controller for all of your gaming needs? That's cool. Some agree with you. Some don't.

I disagree on all counts. I do agree that some games are better played with some controllers, but none of the mentioned ones are the case. Still, you do you.

I'm going to pick this up when it's in stock.

The sensitivity was something Nintendo's official emulators never got right.

I got one. It's a high quality controller, probably the best of the NSO repros. Worth the $50.

Now the Genesis controller I don't know how they're justifying that price point
do you mean high quality as in it replicates the n64 controller well or that it's a good controller

Im sick of looking like an idiot.
Playing 64 games with a dumb controller. If i had the official 64 controller, sitting back cussing at donkey kong it would feel right.

Mine should be arriving today. Should have just taken the plunge and got two.

Unless you hacked your Switch is not worth it, the official Nintendo 64 emulation is terrible on the Switch. Heck is better on the Wii and that thing is two console generations ago!
