Any chance we can get Wii64 or Not64 natively ported to the Wii U side (want to use the Switch N64 controller via Bloopair)?

Yeah, like the thread title reads, is there any chance we can get Wii64 (rice) or Not64 natively ported from the vWii to the Wii U side of the system? For a long time, there hasn't been a major need for this, as Wii U pro controllers and even the GamePad was usable in the vWii homebrew if it were injected properly as a channel to install directly to the Wii U menu. This coupled with the overclock app made for a pretty solid N64 emulator on the Wii U. But now that we have an official bluetooth N64 controller available to us for the Switch, we should be able to get it working on a Wii U as long as we pair it via Bloopair. But, Bloopair connected controllers will cease to work when you do anything in the vWii, including such homebre apps, even if injected and installed to allow for the GamePad to be used. Bloopair only works for the Wii U proper side of the system. I'm sure I'm not the first to ask over the years for any vWii homebrew emulators to be natively ported to the Wii U side of the system, but I feel like this is one of the strongest reasons we've yet seen for any of the N64 emulator forks to see such a port. I'm sure that's far easier said than done, but if it can happen, that really would be amazing.

It would be amazing to get not64/wii64 running natively on WiiU :) but if it were up to me I'd rather have the wii64/not64 Dynarec ported into Mupen64plus_next Core.. its more upto date than Wii64/not64.
Only (only lol) issue would be graphics.. would it have to run in software rendering? dunno :P

My assumption would be if it were possible it would already have been done. But I guess there's a small chance you'll give the devs an idea they haven't thought of idk.

Uggh! Why? Non-official N64 emulation still will be shit. Play the original console, move on to the next gen or high end platform (PC/Switch/Phone/Steam Deck etc) and stop thinking the Wii U can do a lot of things out of imagination.

Wii U can do plenty , N64 Non Official is possible with Time Effort and Far From Shit.

Fuck Switch it an Overpriced Overhyped Piece of Shit even too this day no price drop and even more overpriced for a slicker Screen.

A PC is the way though for everything I recommend RYZEN 7 5700G It Awesome. Including Switch :yayswitch:

You out of the loop? N64 emulation on the Wii U via vWii emulators Not64 and Wii64 coupled with the overclock app, have actually gotten pretty fantastic as it is, you'll be hard pressed to find an N64 game these emulators can't play, most at full speeds at that.

And I'm not really looking for improved performance, sure that'd always be great, but really I just want the native Wii U port so that the official N64 Switch controller would be playable with the emulators. These emulators are functional enough for the vast amount of N64 games that I want to play on the Wii U, that the only real desire I have for the prospect at this point is the best controller possible.

See, my thought is that any homebrew Wii app should feasibly be port-able to the more powerful Wii U, but it would take a lot of extra coding work to get it done, and when they can already boot any vWii homebrew from the Wii U menu with the kind of added controller functionality the Wii U has to offer (Pro Controllers, Gamepad including mirrored screen) with minimal extra coding, then there was little motivation for making native ports.

I could be way wrong, that's just what I always figured was the case with why so few of the vWii emulators were ever natively ported to the Wii U side. And I recognize that my one desire here, just being to get a Switch wireless N64 controller paired to it via Bloopair and usable within the emulator, is probably still too little of a reason to waste on making a native port, but if it could be done, it would be a pretty cool little perk all the same.

Though at least actual N64 VC games and injects should work with said controller via Bloopair, so that's great, still that doesn't cover as many games as those emulators do. But it does get most of them.

I don't think you understand enthusiasts wanting it to run on a certain platform

He's pretty much right though in addition very few devs even care about doing anything for Wii U anymore and haven't for a long time. The Switch came out almost 5 years ago. The guy who did Bloopair is great but there's not many others like him. To be fair it doens't hurt to ask but wouldn't hold your breath.

Yeah, I know the scene is quiet, but it's a bit silly for some noob to come in and laugh at the prospect of something that the Wii U is totally capable of, and in fact already accomplishes it with little issue to begin with. It's not like I'm asking for the Wii U to suddenly be able to play Xbox games, I'm just asking if a vWii homebrew could be ported natively to the Wii U, I concede it may not be easy with little interest in doing it, but I certainly wouldn't say it's a thought that should be laughed off, when it's definitely feasible and within reason.

Edit for clarity, I see you're a noob too, I hope you figured out through context that you are not the noob I was referring to in my little rant there lol.

Maybe that's not what you were asking, but using UWUVCI AIO nintendo 64 injector might work?
Nah, though I appreciate the input. Though, any N64 VC title or inject directly to the Wiii U should be completely functional with the Switch n64 controller via Bloopair. And this will cover the vast majority of N64 games, but not every game works via inject, many of which do however work in Wii64/Not64. Plus, those at the 300 title limit, may not have room for anymore N64 VC titles or Injects in their Wii U menu.

what you said would be great if that happens, so it would have everything there along with the other emulators, however, there is a plugin they made for pj64 that runs several games well (gliden64 3.0 or 4.0).
I've never tested retroarch's mupen64 plus next, if it's better than what I'm talking about it would be great to have it on the WII U
It's a shame to only have the wii64/not64 and you can't even use the controls on them.

I don't know if you've found a solution for this yet, but you don't need Bloopair. You can get a Retro Rosetta with the Wii Ext extension. You plug it into a Wiimote, it does need an external power, and it runs Blueretro software. And my N64 NSO works great with it.

these emulators run a hell of a lot better whn vWii has been started with the limitations lifted (overclock + cores 2 and 3 unlocked, done with sign_c2w_patcher)

They still didnt have great compatibility though.
You would think with the crazy things coming from lightrec, like with the Wii PSX scene, that a neddle could move there. But I don't know a thing about coding. So who am I to say 🤷

Even the Gamecube plays N64 games, lol. Animal Crossing is literally an N64 ROM for Gamecube, at a whopping 26MB in size. And the Zelda disc with N64 games on it.
