I have an OLED vita that I modded a few years ago. It’s on 3.60 and works well but asking if I should update anything. Haven’t been following things so don’t know what’s new.

One thing to note is I have removed the 3G card and installed the micro sd card internally using USBMC (I think). When tried updating things before the internal memory card did not work right because it needed a very specific version of enso.

Since these card adapters are so rare I’m not sure that any other version of enso or USBMC were updated to get them to work.

It’s been so long I honestly don’t remember most of what I did. If anyone can point me I the right direction I’d really appreciate it.

Thank you.

3.60 is the golden firmware still. you may want to use yamt, but I don't know if it works with the 3g adapter. it probably does, but I'd wait until someone says for sure. I think @Anderxale said that it does in another post, so I've tagged him for you. ref00d, if you're using that, was updated a few months ago, so it's hard to say if 0syscall6 is still the best considering it was last updated last year, I think. ref00d no longer needs the keys file or anything, so they may be comparable.

you'll also need the itls app that installs a plugin. install the full version, since you're on 3.60. it allows you to sign into psn. can't anymore without something like that on lower firmware.

I remember ref00d think that’s one of the last things I installed. Will update that. ITLS sounds familiar, is it only used for PSN access?

What’s yamt?

Hey!

I'm unsure what you are trying to do, are you trying to set up your internal sd adapter?

USBMC is the driver for storage, the Vita 3G module inside was hooked up to internal USB disguised as a mPCIe port. Yifan Lu created the USBMC driver so that the vita can use the internal USB port as internal storage, but it's just the driver - the SD card still needs to be mounted.

You currently have 2 choices for mounting the internal storage after installing USBMC.

You can mount the SD card using the older common StorageMgr plugin - this is the storage that is installed and modified using AutoPluginII

You can mount the SD card using YAMT. YAMT is much faster for the sd-gamecart adapter known as sd2vita, but the USB storage for PSTV and psvsd (USBMC) is still experimental.

If your adapter is working, I suggest staying on StorageMgr until YAMT comes out for USB storage.

If your adapter isn't working, can you go into vitashell and tell me what your storage configuration is in ur0:tai/storage_config.txt ? Same information in AutoPluginII in Vita plugins under "configure sd2vita".

This is my storage_config.txt. I believe yours should have a UMA line (my adapter isn't currently installed).

What's the end goal?

Oh, I see the question was "do I need to update anything". Sorry about the long reply hahaha.

In terms of your internal storage, no need to update yet. Hopefully soon when YAMT is ready because it's much faster.

I looked at the vita guide somewhat recently, maybe a few months ago, and it no longer mentions much in terms of what to install for total usage, so I can understand how the op could be confused.

I really don’t remember how I set it up or why. It’s been too long. Right now the PSVSD is my primary storage and my vita memory just holds roms for emulators.

Just wanted to confirm if there have been any major changes.

not too many major differences. just updating things probably. if you update the homebrew browser and it gets stuck (was part of one of the earlier version, but the bug as been fixed), delete the homebrew browser folder in the data folder on the root of ux0. that will force it to refresh the database of the homebrew browser, not the system.

A while back people were working on patches to get games running at native res. Is that still a thing?
