So this is my first time trying Medicat. I want to use with Ventoy. The main page has a quick guide on how to use it with Ventoy. But the steps are confusing. Step 1, install Ventoy. Ok. Pretty straight forward. Step 2 Format the drive? What's the point of step 1 if I'm going to format it afterwards anyway?
Edit: Ok. So Ventoy creates another hidden partition, you're only formatting the visible partition. Number 1, not cool that it's hidden, makes the app look shaddy, number 2, the guide show point out that you're formatting an empty partition, not the actual ventoy partition.

I am thinking about a way to help Jayro in some ways:
- As the majority of the package is composed of images, instead of a big package, maybe the folder structure itself can be shared. The main release can still be a big package (ex: 22.0) then if someone needs to update to the latest images of section(s), he can get only the images with a newer version, it should not be a big deal to find the differences, even if we want to upgrade all sections. The folders with non images could still be compressed files. A changelog at the root can also help at that point.
- Some "contributors" (not anyone of course) could also have some special folder where to put data for Jayro's approval and then publication
The goal is not to steal a part of the project from Jayro, Jayro will still be the only god of this project. What I have in mind is to help Jayro (I repeat the name because I still do not know if I should say he/she) to have some spare time, rest and even implement more on this project or others.

What do you want to localize? I made a quick test on my pen and I was able to create a folder using Chinese characters, they seem to be correctly displayed, they were surrounded by brackets and the icon was a blue folder, but I guess you should be able to rename existing folders and translate the "dir": lines in the ventoy/ventoy.json file accordingly. The file is UTF8, so it should work.
The issue I see is that after each update, you might need to rework again the folders and the file, it should not be a big deal.
There might be some more files you can translate based on your needs.
If you need images files in your language, then it is, according to me a totally different project.
The audience of such tool is IT people, or at least advanced users, so people used to English technical terms. I can barely imagine what a end user can achieve with such powerful tool...
If you make some tries, just let us know the result (screenshots for example). To continue on my post, maybe one of the contribution we could make is to translate some files, so Jayro's package could include a folder with translated ventoy.json files in different languages, when we create the key, we only need to overwrite the existing ventoy.json file with the translated one.
One last thing: if you intend to alter the files, first ensure Jayro is OK with that and Jayro's name should remain where it is (for example, "Made By Jayro" can be translated "Jayro... ..." (do not know the Chinese translation), you can add the translation of ", translated by ansion", once again, with Jayro's approval.

Even with Ventoy's secure boot option enabled, Medicat USB may not boot because of the secure boot (This happened to me). Try disabling it to see if it solves the problem.
Exactly. After placing the 6-7 Medicat USB zips in the same directory, you just unzip the .001 and everything is extracted.
Hello, hope I am not doubling some question but I am experiencing freezes in the bootable mini win 10 environment, when launching some of the portable apps, for example AIDA all three versions, HWInfo and others. Is there any resolution for this issue and if not can you link me an older stable version?

JAYRO had planned a new version of MEDICAT in August and nothing has happened.
I think that JAYRO, who is the unique and brilliant creator of MEDICAT, must be fed up with those who interfere in his activity and want to change the fruit of his work.
Certainly, these helpers are well-intentioned, but they should not be invasive or pushy.
Make proposals without insisting heavily and let JAYRO manage its creation.

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
