Hi friends,
I am experimentally creating youtube for wiimc.

I have been able to verify that YouTube does not currently work on WiiMC so I decided to contribute to the community.

The idea is that youtube works again on our nintendo wii.
However I need you to test it before launching all this.

Here you have a url to add to wiimc so you can try it.
http://jmcrypto.epizy.com/popular/

It is experimental, it may not work correctly, tell me in the comments if there are any errors.
If it is launched, the name of the website will be changed, remember that this is just a test to see if it works.

Currently supports:
- 1080p quality videos and lower quality videos.
- YouTube "Popular" page.

If everything goes well...
New functions will be added such as:
- Youtube "Audio only", to listen to your favorite music without having to see the video clip, saving data !.
- Ability to search for videos and music on YouTube, what we all want (This has high priority for me).
- Instance selector, optionally you can change the invidious instance for the api.
- Other improvements that I will not write for now ...

Greetings

I've tested this on my PAL (Dutch) Wii, but it doesn't work. After selecting it in WiiMC it says "Playlist doesn't contain supported files" and after ticking "Ok" it shows "Error loading the file" :(

I just enabled this address to test the flash player from the wii opera browser.
Please check if it works properly by following these steps:
1- Open the opera browser on the wii.
2- Access the following address from the browser.
http://jmcrypto.epizy.com/
3- Try to play the video from the player shown on the web.
If it works, report it in the post, and I will start the tests to activate youtube in the web browser.
I will update this post if necessary.

I just tested on my wii, and it just won't load the player.
I find it very strange that jwplayer (The flash player edition) does not work in wii, I will have to try other players that are functional in the browser.
Do you know of any website where the player works from the wii browser?

I don't have a browser on my Wii at this moment :( It was a second-hand unit which I erased first before softmodding it.

The browser came with the Internet Channel? It seems to take a lot of memory to install...

I've installed the Internet Channel/Wii browser so I can test :)

The browser really takes up much memory... 218 blocks + 37 for the savings...

Remember I'm only testing, I'm looking at all the possibilities.
Just keep in mind that 480p is the maximum during your "testing." Upscalers and such make no difference whatsoever regarding that technical, insurmountable, and very real limitation. And there really isn't any point to trying to use what limited graphical or CPU resources you have to downscale a 1080p stream to 480p. I am sure you already know how to request the 480 stream from Youtube's servers, so I needn't advise you further.
