Hacking What is required for a bare minimum sd card to boot to the system's home screen?

My n2ds has been giving me a lot of errors, and I wanted to check to see if my 3ds firmware was corrupted. The way I've gone about this is by making an sd card with the least amount of files necessary. I've been trying to find what is necessary to get the system to boot to the homescreen, but everything I try just gives the arm11 error upon boot.

When booting. I am guessing its a Arm11 Process PM?

I used the sd card verify test and there was no issue, and it won’t boot without an sd card. Also, I cant even play any games on cartridge because I’ve been getting errors left and right:/

Then you need to update the copy of Luma on the NAND, as per https://3ds.guide/restoring-updating-cfw .

If you didn't follow http://3ds.guide when you hacked your 3DS, then it may be difficult to help you.

Which test? If you used h2testw, then it is not useful unless the card is completely empty before you run the test.

don't even need an sd card actually.
Well that depends if he actually installed Luma3DS into CTRNAND. A lot of people skip that step because "it's working already, no need to do anything else" (my guess as to what their thought process is)
Also, most probably forget to update CTRNAND Luma when updating the SD card Luma.

You should post a screenshot of the exact error, it can be helpful.
But it sounds like you may have updated your firmware without updating Luma and the version of Luma you have is not compatible with your firmware.
Edit: Actually no that would probably cause a different error. Still, make sure everything is up to date.

I think it's the sd card reader.. You could restore a nand backup and/or CTRTransfer in GM9, if both fail then it's a hardware problem.

This is unclear. How would restoring a NAND backup fix an SD card reader problem? How would you even restore a NAND backup if the SD card reader was malfunctioning!?

Make sure the card is format FAT32 32kbs clusters.
Don't you mean 64k clusters? (I think I've been getting that wrong lately too.)

I'm pretty sure it's the sd card reader but honestly you can never know. So that's why i asked him to try his luck with the nand restoration/ CTRTransfer, and if it fixes it, good, and if it doesn't then it should be obvious what's causing the issue..

I think I used the Browserhax method, so I’m not sure if it will be difficult to follow that guide.

And I copied the contents of my SD card to my computer, formatted it, and then ran the h2testw on it

I didn’t even know it was possible to install Luma3ds on the CTRNAND, I think the guy I was watching on YouTube on how to install it completely skipped over that

And I already tried updating everything, so I think it may be the firmware. Here are some of the errors I get:

You should never follow Youtube guides as they tend to be outdated or incomplete. Like I said, if you didn't follow http://3ds.guide when you hacked your 3DS, then it may be difficult to help you. It's too late now to go back and try to do it again.

And I already tried updating everything, so I think it may be the firmware. Here are some of the errors I get:
Unfortunately none of those are typical errors and it is hard to say what the problem might be if your SD card has passed testing. You didn't try to do a region change, did you?

There is also a more complete ctrtransfer if the standard one doesn't help.

So you were able to boot to the homescreen, judging by those errors. When did you stop being able to? Did you change anything before it stopped booting?

Issues booting are more @TurdPooCharger's area of expertise, he can probably provide some detailed steps for you to try.

unfortunately, I think TurdPooCharger may have retired or dealing with real life stuff. I was looking for his post on the keyY.bin to see if I had its offset right (I have no idea), but I could've sworn he mentioned it.

I was unable to boot it shortly after the errors when playing games starting occurring, and I’m gonna try the CTRTransfer later today
