Nintendo Switch official firmware version 13.0.0 available, adds Bluetooth audio support

Put your stability jokes on hold, because it's time for a new Nintendo Switch firmware update, and it's one that offers some actual functionality, for once. Official firmware version 13.0.0 is here, and it brings with it support for Bluetooth audio devices, meaning you can now pair headphones, speakers, or earbuds with the Nintendo Switch system without the use of a third-party dongle. Of note, Nintendo specifies that Bluetooth microphones will not pair with the system, as they are not supported.

  • Headphones, earbuds, speakers, and other audio devices that connect with Bluetooth can now be paired with Nintendo Switch family systems for audio output.
    • Bluetooth microphones are not supported.
    • Up to two compatible wireless controllers can be connected to the system while using Bluetooth audio.
    • Bluetooth audio cannot be used while local wireless communication is active.
    • For more information, see How to Pair and Manage Bluetooth Audio Devices.

There's more, as well. A new option allows users to update their Switch's dock, though it's a feature exclusive to the Nintendo Switch OLED dock, with its LAN port. Consoles connected to LAN can now also stay connected to the internet, even when in sleep mode. You can grab the update if you're interested in the new features, or stay on your current firmware and await the all-clear from your favorite CFW dev sources.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but out of the list of features that users request most, the only that CFW do not deliver is bluetooth audio, so it is a big thing (if you don't look the world around you, obviously). I did not read the reports, but no big headlines about bugs yet, it is the bare minimum, but still a good thing. Now let's pray for vulnerabilities because I want Atmosphere on my lite.

For whatever reason, Nintendo is the only thing that GBTemp users hate more than China.

Nintendo added bluetooth audio on 12.x but didn't activate it. Homebrew enabled it for use way before Nintendo enabled it on 13.

Well done, Nintendo.
I'm sure I missed a lot of (not available) features but that's enough Nintendo bashing for one day.

Netflix: Never gonna happen... App NF pi#%ed Ninty off
Achievments: What a useless concept (who needs a flashing banner every few minutes?!) Collectibles are preferred
OnlineMP: Peer to Peer since 05.. They'll not change that.. it's cheap and easy to maintain (wiimmfi only works /cause/ it's p2p.. think about that too...)
WebBrowser: I wonder if a third party couldn't release one ?
Noone did so far... (And we already have apps)
Themes: Maybe a security concern ?
Folders: Might be useful.... But only for some things
(Like that arcade archives)

Question: How do I set up a smartphone (with wired headphones) as an audio device for the Nintendo Switch? I'm trying to find an app for this, and so far, no luck.
That'd require spoofing a bluetooth device.
Which in turn would at the least need a rooted android device...

..
Nevermind:
You may not be able to [create an A2DP connection] manually between 2 phones also because to stream one device needs to be A2DP sink and other other A2DP source; phones are typically only source devices (source of the stream that can stream to sink devices), sinks are headsets or Bluetooth speakers.

=> Impossible over BT as of yet

I just got myself a pair of inear hps for 9 bucks..
That route is probably easier.

EDIT: Not all hps fare well it seems:
Pioneer SE-MS9BH: Lag free
TIE truly PRO: Minimal lag

Mostly agree with this, but I would like to see an actual themes implementation. Ninty has done well enough locking everything down, they can figure it out.

use AIOUpdater to delete temp files, and/or go to recovery mode.
