Dying Light Platinum Edition is coming to the Nintendo Switch

sadasdsa.png

Techland's parkour zombie game will be making its way to a new platform. Dying Light Platinum Edition has been revealed for the Nintendo Switch, with few further details other than the existence of the port. The game will be released both physically and digitally, though there is currently no solid release date, nor a launch window. Those that purchase the physical edition will get a few trinkets, such as a map, a survival guide, and some stickers. Dying Light originally released in 2015 for last generation consoles, while a sequel is currently in development and planned to launch later this December.

Wow and more old ports.

If only nintendo werent cheap skates and actually made a console rather than a cheap gimmick, we may have had the option to play the newer title rather than a last gen port of a game you can buy for a few quid on the console you already own.

Yay, another game I played over half a decade ago on more powerful hardware being released on the switch.

But was it portable? That's the main draw for these types of releases.

Hmm. I've always seen Dying Light as a pretty hard game to run, either due to poor optimization or just the open nature. Doom was the same generation, but Doom is crazy well optimized and it still ran at a shaky yet playable 30 FPS on Switch. I'm worried about this one, honestly.

It was not but it doesn't warrant a full price release. Nor does it justify the work taken away from what could be original releases

Do you seriously think the port took some drastic amount of work away from other projects? And do you think one single dev company develops every game or something? Or that every studio has only one dev team? It was probably even given to a team that specifically handles ports.

I've given up with these kinds of ports. Used to think they were cool for the novelty but now I feel like it's a waste of time. I'd rather buy the game on my pc or laptop and stream it to my phone.

Can't wait to laugh at the $60 price tag and 20-15 FPS.

Seriously Nintendo, make an actual proper fucking console sometime this decade.
Depends on what you mean by a proper console. If you mean a powerful on par with Sony and Microsoft, then we will probably never have one, as Nintendo's focus is very different now.

This releases don't take away work from original ones. I would even say that if these ports didnt exist they probably wouldn't even touch the console

One of the few zombie games I haven't played ever. It is going to be great to finally put my hands on this game. I don't understand the hate some of you are throwing, maybe the game is old but is a great way to play for people like me who have never played it before, on TV or on the go. I myself have been having a blast with my Switch since release, playing on the big screen or just lying in bed, and in co-op with my son who is also very happy with his Switch. Some new titles, some old ports, but hey, the gimmick of the console is just too great. I prefer that to have more powerful graphics but attached to the TV. I am a videogame fan since NES so maybe that's why I just look up to fun and enjoyable games rather than potency and all that FPS stuff.

Either way, just enjoy the games you like and let the other people alone. Just live and let die.
