Pokemon Presents August 18th - new details on D/P remakes, Legends Arceus gets release date

After making the formal reveal a few days ago, it's time for the latest Pokemon Presents livestream to kick off. Featuring 28 minutes of content on upcoming Pokemon titles like the Diamond and Pearl remakes, there's bound to be plenty of new information shown. The stream begins soon, so be sure to catch it live, or read up on the recap in this thread.

Live Coverage

Pokemon Unite will be launching on mobile on September 22nd. You can preregister for the game, which will have crossplay with the Nintendo Switch version.

Sylveon and Mamoswine will be the latest Pokemon added in a future update.

Pokemon Cafe Mix is getting a revamp. It'll be called Pokemon Cafe Remix, and it'll feature new puzzles to complete. The update is coming this fall.

Pokemon Masters EX is celebrating its two-year anniversary. There will be plenty of events to go along with the anniversary and new trainers to pull.

Galar region Pokemon will be added to Pokemon Go, with the Sword and Shield legendary dogs to be featured in raids.

Next is new footage on the D/P remakes. Stickers on Pokeballs are returning, along with the Union Room. You'll be able to dress your trainer up, and contests are making a return too. The underground is back, along with its secret bases. It appears that you can find Pokemon there too now.

Launching November 19th, with preorders to open today.

Statues placed underground will determine special Pokemon you can find there.

Pokemon will follow you like HGSS.

There will be a special edition Switch Lite with Dialga and Palkia.

Legends Arceus is next.

There will be new forms of old Pokemon, such as Growlithe and Stantler. You can ride various types of Pokemon across the landscape.

Launches January 28, 2022.

Your base will be located in what becomes Jubilife City.

Cyllene will be someone that helps you in your journey, though looks like an ancestor of Cyrus.

Base camps will let you craft items for your adventures.

Your character can be attacked by wild Pokemon.

There are two styles, strong and agile. The former will lower your speed but give you power, while the other will let you attack more often.

There's a proto Pokedex you'll be tasked with filling out.

Wyrdeer is the evolution of Stantler, a new form of Basculin, and a Hisuian Bravery. Growlithe will have rock type moves.

Posts like these always amaze me. It's a full 50% more. $200 is already expensive to many people. There are also people who just don't care about the docking functionality, or feel it's not worth a full 50%/$100 extra. It's a really simple concept.
battery life is a huge thing for people that like portable only imo, i always choose the ds/3ds models with most battery life and lite battery life is kinda meh compared to switch v2 and upcoming oled.

remake of daimond and pearl has no platinium content and no megas... dman also there will be no cross batles between mainline pokemon games even tough they have no new pokemons... yeah pokemon ip died on 3ds, now it will be one game per game no more continuity :S

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

they are not, there is no gigantamax here, they didnt even made teh game cross compatible, so the engine is diferent, you wont be able to battle with sword and shield they said so themselves on the end.

the pokemon timeline continuity ended on the 3ds, seems now we will get standalone games and then you will send your pokemons to pokemon home and if your game is compatible with said pokemon you can import it to that game.

this way they never bother to make the games cross compatible or using timeline or fulldex unfortunately. they changed the all continuity thing since the switch.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

they said there is no cross battles at the end so yeah no more updates to sword and shield, every game from now one will be its own and pokemon home will be a sort of migration app that will allow you to migrate pokemons if said pokemon appears in said game.

I rewatched the ending segment once more, and the announcer said the following:

"We'd also like to announce that support for these titles is planned to come to Pokemon Home in 2022."

Followed by:

"As for ranked battles....these will take place as before in Pokemon Sword and Shield", with an on screen graphic that simply said "Ranked Battles will not take place in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokemon Shining Pearl, or Pokemon Legends: Arceus."

It doesn't say anything about no longer updating Sword and Shield - just that Diamond and Pearl won't feature ranked battles.

Not that I think they'll update S/SH to support the entire Sinnoh Pokedex, but it'd be nice. Splitting up and moving pokemon back and forth is a pain in the butt as is.

if they cant play ranked battle why would they play reguylar online battles? it means they will not be connected, because first there is pokemons on dp that arent on shield therefore they cant appear or the game would crash and so on, dp remakes wont have any pokemon gen5 and up in their code for sure.

so yeah you will have to send pokemon to pokemon home and if that pokemon exists in pokemon shield then you can trhansfer from home to shield.

I only played regular battles on Sword and Shield lol. Either way, I wouldn't extrapolate more until we have more information though - the game is only 3 months away, after all. I can't imagine we won't see Alolan or Galarian forms in Diamond and Pearl - much like how we saw Alolan forms in Let's Go Pikachu. In terms of Gen 5 and above, who knows? I mean we got Meltan and Melmetal in Let's Go, which was a remake of Gen 1. I wouldn't be surprised to see some key legendary pokemon from post Gen5 in BD/BP.

lets go was to be a story driven spin off of pokemon GO which is where meltan originated from...

3 months means the game is done, they dont have time to do anything more, they are now just sending it to production.

this will be kinda like lets go, just the bare minimum to be faithfull and thats it, they added the underground thing and are happy to call it its new thing.

lets go couldnt battle with sword and shield neither will this remakes, times of games being full compatible are kinda dead, they made that decision when they dropped national dex, heck tbh i dont even know if all pokemons coded in original dp will make it into dp remakes, becuase many old gen pokemons could only be transfered from the gba games, and since we dont have that connectivity i dont know if they will offer like gen 1 and 2 starters and legendarys and such, imo they will just cut them.

All the haters got BTFO when they saw that BDSP isn't a 1:1 remake :rofl2:

I am so glad we are getting regular evolutions for older Pokemon that aren't locked to regional forms! One of my most wanted features I wanted to see in the game. Basculin getting an evolution is absolutely amazing too.

November - January is gonna be a good month for Pokemon fans

No it wasn't and they never said anything on that note. Don't spread misinformation

I imagine Legend would be like BOTW but turn out it is Monster Hunter instead. But then again, Monster Hunter style fit Pokemon better than botw.

Not interested in either game now - and for Legends...why Rowlet? Why not another Grass-type starter, like Treecko or Chespin or Turtwig, who have a significantly wider movepool (at least in main series games)?

Cyndaquil's a decent choice, especially if that stat system's gonna be different than the overly-restrictive 510-EV limit; Typhlosion has a quite respectable mixed movepool, but with EVs forcing specialisation he often can't get to fully utilise said movepool (which is why I'd quite like to see Stat EXP return some day). Still, Torchic, Chimchar and maybe Litten would have more potential, I'd say.

I've always loved Oshawott, so I'm fine with him. Still do love Totodile and Mudkip, though.

Arceus looks interesting. Graphic wise, it looks okay. Not too bad nor good. Since this is an open world game, the graphic shouldn't matter too much if there isn't anything worth doing in the open field.

Arceus looks like shit graphically, lol.
Wonder what gameplay there will be besides walking around and catching Pokemon as "quests"

Flavour text that only a minority of players would read, since the normal Pokemon would be registered and its entry listed - they'd need to manually select the Mega Evolution to be displayed to see that text.
The mechanic itself should've remained, and expanded upon (Mega Yanmega, anyone? More Mega starters? Mega Luxray, Mega Staraptor, Mega Rampardos, etc.).

Flygon was going to get a Mega Evolution in ORAS, but "artist's block" happened and thus he had to miss out.
We also should've gotten Primal Dialga and Palkia - I mean, the former already existed in Mystery Dungeon, so...
