Hopefully they've improved performance for Legends Arceus by a lot. If New Pokemon Snap, Monster Hunter Rise, and Monster Hunter Stories 2 can all both look and run better, GameFreak really has no excuse.

Not to mention Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which has plenty of beautiful vistas, party members that follow the player (up to five!), and only really has one laggy area (Mor Ardain's old factory). Even with all the flashy animations and effects that occur in battle, there's rarely any slowdown.

I'm pretty sure they made improvement
As for the 4G remake, I hope they remade the models and gave up on the chibi style
I heard lot of dissapointment from pokemon players about the chibi graphics, and tbh, I didn't really like it either

I disagree
I agree though on the fact that 7G was a total faillure to me mainly due to the lack of gym
But other than that, I really enjoyed 6G and 8G

It was generally going uphill until X&Y, where it plummeted down a cliff and broke its legs; it slowly recovered, until Let's Go and Sword/Shield kneecapped it.
A third pair of feature-lacking disappointments would be nothing but a guillotine to this mutilated franchise, honestly - a swift death.

You had the Totem Pokemon and Island Leaders which were basically the game thing as Gym Leaders.
