Gaming Today is the last day Netflix will be available on the Wii U (and 3DS)

I know it's kind of silly, but I made a video comparing the Wii U version with the PS4 version to get an archive of what Netflix was like on Wii U.



I'm kind of sad with the end of Netflix on Wii U, I used it a lot for a long time, many people especially here in Brazil still don't have a SmartTV and it was extremely practical to watch it on Wii U.

I could watch it on TV without any problem with headphones on the gamepad on the living room sofa and if someone needed to use the TV I wouldn't need to stop watching my series, anime or movie, I just took the gamepad to my room and keep watching lying in bed, i loved it.

I really hope the App makes it to the Nintendo Switch someday so that I can have such an experience like this again.

I don't have a smart tv either. I'd have to use my nvidia shield probably to play netflix. don't have netflix though, but just in general.

Funnily enough this was one reason I liked my Wii U in the beginning, in an era before cheap tablets it was nice having this to the side of my computer.

The Switch ironically would have been perfect for this and Prime video.

Honestly, before I got my Fire TV Cube my Wii U was my primary way of watching Netflix on the bigger screen. Honestly while I'm gonna miss the 3DS version a whole lot more, it kinda sucked because it didn't have support for multiple Netflix profiles. I mean, even my nest hubs can use different Netflix profiles! On the 3DS it'd just default to the account owner's profile, e.g. my mom's profile. Who knows, maybe someone will figure out how the 3DS version worked, and maybe get it to stream from a Plex server?

Honestley aside from being a potential copy of my Wii in my room, I don't really see much purpose in bootin' up the ol' Wii U other than to (if this still works) use the Gamepad as a Jackbox controller.

WELP. Dang it , every time I get more afraid to the day when nintento shuts down wii u systems ( which will not likely be at this time cuz even the wii is still on ) cuz I just installed Call of duty black ops 2 from wup installer
