Are you ready to rumble? The Switch sure isn't, because it's so stable. A brand new firmware update has been pushed out, bringing the Nintendo hybrid system to software version 12.0.3. As usual, the patch notes don't offer a single bit of insight as to what this update brings to the table, so if you're curious about what's going on under the hood, be sure to wait it out and get the all-clear from the usual knowledgable sources and devs.

UPDATE: SciresM has commented on the matter. It appears Atmosphere users will need an update, which will happen soon, likely sometime tomorrow.

UPDATE 2: Reports are going around that the update has been pulled, as it causes issues with downloading games from the eShop. Supposedly, the update is still live on Nintendo's servers, but Switch consoles now default back to seeing 12.0.2 as the most recent update. Be wary of any issues, if you did update, and share any experiences. Nintendo still has the 12.0.3 announcement post live on their official website.

Not like people doesn't want to, there is just no bug to exploit for software based CFW entrypoint on patched, and mariko unit.

It appears to be back again. I just updated my Lite to 12.0.3.

Thanks. Good to know and I will remain with 11.0.0. No games interested me requiring 12.0.3, thought.

It appears to be back again. I just updated my Lite to 12.0.3.

I assume if it is up for the lite it is also up for the standard switch, now my question is if they changed anything on the firmware or if it is exactly the same as it was before the pull?

I took the plunge to see if they fixed it.
They didn't.
Do not download this update because it will make downloading from the eShop impossible.
According to a tweet from the Japanese switch support account, installing stuff from the microsd card is impossible so I have no idea how they will fix this.

Why they pushed this broken update out the door again will be a mystery to me though.
The backlash will hit them really hard in a week when the e3 sale starts, so I expect it to be fixed by then.

I found a workaround
Cancelling and restarting the download a bunch of times will get it to download at some point apparently

I just updated my hackable system (is atmosphere updated yet?). I'm not hacked though. I did so to download game builder garage. it did in fact error when I tried to download the game. it error'd instantly, but the tile appeared. using the cloud download thing on the tile downloaded the game correctly. I don't know if that was a fluke or not. there's one more switch I need to download it to, so I guess we'll see. I was able to download the save from my other switch, and it said I needed to update my controllers, so I did that as well, while in game, and doing all that as well as starting the game worked, no problem. however, that initial failure has me worried.

that's the only thing that worked for me when I downloaded game builder garage. the only other thing I tried was downloading directly from the eshop. btw, Nintendo suggests deleting network settings, then reinputting them. dunno if it will work though.

won't download on the Mario switch at all, so now there's a blank tile with no icon. this is really pissing me off, because I paid for a game I can't even download now.
