A challenger approaches, as a possible imitation product based on Team Xecuter's SX Core modchip has surfaced online. The discovery was initially posted to Chinese webforum Baidu, in which two images were uploaded, with claims of them being clones of SX Core. Supposedly, this knockoff chip would support Atmosphere CFW for the mariko and ipatched Nintendo Switch variants by soldering it exactly like you would with the SX Core. These clones have already appeared on Taobao and Xianyu, though they're currently priced at 700 Yuan ($108 USD) at the cheapest. While they may have "secretly shipped" off to various retailers to sell, it's still unknown as to whether or not these chips work, or if they're reliable. No word has been made as to whether or not the same mystery team has also cloned the SX Lite chips that have Switch Lite support, either.

New chips have appeared. Recently, Xianyu (Chinese retailer) has a batch of chips that can be bought in large quantities, which only support atmosphere, which is different from the previous tx chips. The imitated chips have already been secretly shipped.

I'm pretty sure the chips will not work... NVidia and Big N will not release a new product containing the same vulnerability

It's not a matter of having balls but finding an exploit that could be profitable...
Trust me, if there's enough money involved, there will be a jailbreak... Also, people tend to learn from past or other's mistakes. I bet selling a "dumb" chip will not be considered piracy in most places.
By dumb I mean an empty chip with opensource firmwares that could be flashed by "single persons" (or end customers).
This way they could "transfer" any possible charges to those individuals. Almost like the same that happens with the SAMD21 chips for RCM.
I believe the big issue with the SX chips was they came with a license that enabled piracy and without it that chip was most likely useless... Big N fought for the software, not the hardware, I believe.

too bad the biggest place that matters at all for software profit is the United States and we have the DMCA. I think it can possibly work in the US if all the pieces were separate to purchase lol

on the other hand, I would assume very strongly that software developers hate places like the temp and other place such as darkumbra or whatever it's called now.
