i recently started using my 3ds again, and i decided to homebrew it. plus theres probably a million things wrong with it:
i spray painted the whole thing a few years ago and its probably been dropped a few times. Though its been working well and has never given me any problems, untill now,,,,,, ive changed the battery and the motherboard looks untouched..... the orange light does turn on when its charging and after changing the battery it did work for a few minutes but thats it. does anyone know what i can do to make it work again lol,,,,, or should i just buy a new one second hand ??? idk help me please

homebrewing the 3ds shouldn't have caused that problem. I suspect something else is wrong with the system (hardware-wise).

i did, would deleting the homebrewing make it work??? i spent a ton of time on it so thats rly my last resort
You shouldn't attempt deleting it, in most cases it will only cause more issues than it would solve.
Have you tried using another SD card to put the files on? There's a possibility that the SD card you are currently using is faulty and boot9strap is unable to boot from it.

Also, you haven't said that in your original post, so I'm assuming that by "won't turn on" you mean that the blue power light turns on for a few seconds and then turns off, without anything on the screens or any sound from the speakers? Is that right, or does it "not turn on" in a different way?

Well, that sounds more like a hardware issue that's not related to homebrew and CFW. Try removing the battery and charger from the 3DS for a few minutes or a few hours to see if that makes any change, and if it doesn't, you could try disassembling the 3DS to check if the fuses on the motherboard are all working. If you have a voltage meter, make sure that the battery voltage is correct after charging it (should be between 3.7V-4.2V).

possibly. my o3ds won't charge unless the cable is positioned a certain way. I got it that way, so it's nothing I did to it. my n3ds xl has no issues. my o3ds is still using a9lh too, but it's okay. it was for the gateway many years ago.

The fuses don't have to look wrong to the eye to be damaged, you have to check them with a continuity meter.
If the battery doesn't charge, it could be one of the fuses responsible for charging the battery, and then it's possible that the 3DS is not turning on just because all your batteries are discharged and cannot be charged in your 3DS.
The charging port is probably fine if you still get the orange charge light.

Should be fine, but keep in mind that you need a soldering iron and some pretty precise soldering skills to replace them.
I successfully replaced the faulty fuse,,,, but it didnt work n ive now replaced the entire abxy board but its still not working...... should I just give up lol
