Yet another PlayStation-exclusive is coming to PCs. After Horizon Zero Dawn, it was announced that the next game from one of Sony's first-party developers coming to PCs would be the post-apocalyptic title from Bend Studio Days Gone. The studio has shared the first gameplay footage of the upcoming version today along with some details:

Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game set two years after a devastating global pandemic. Play as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter facing a brutal struggle for survival while searching for a reason to live.

Days Gone's PC version will come with 21:9 ultra-wide monitor support, a "super resolution photo mode" and the ability to use 1st and 3rd party controllers, as well as the classic PC mouse and keyboard combo.

Today's announcement also revealed the launch date of the PC version: May 18. Days Gone is already available for pre-purchase from Steam and Epic Games Store.

If memory serves, this is the Game that boasted a complex Horde system with some interesting path-finding for their Zombies to chase you on.

The Trailer doesn't actually show where a Keyboard and Mouse would serve the Player better in this Game, since there are melee fighting and riding parts where nobody will want to switch between Controllers, especially mid-Zombie Horde attack.

Because of that, it feels a little gimmicky; what isn't would be some Mod Support.

Nah the initial PC release for HZD was universally panned for being a shit port, doesn't matter what build you had. I think at this point they've fixed it though.

I'm just waiting eagerly for the Bloodborne port that'll come out in the next decade or so

Never had issues with the game. Not in my newer rig, nor in my old computer. I played it with an i7 960 from 2008 and and i7 7700k, and used a GTX 970, a GTX 1080 and in the end an RTX 3090. Never had any issue with any of them. I didn't played it on launch day but started playing in the beginning of the following month, so there may have been patches and fixes launched meanwhile and they updated the game for a big while after release.

Either way, it's an unfair comparison that on release day things went smoother on PS4 than PC. It was a game developed for PS4 hardware exclusively and optimize to it. It being ported to PC with a good optimization is a feat. There are two or 3 variations of PS4 hardware and a universe of PC combinations. It's only natural that upon release day bugs, errors and need dog optimization surface on the PC. It's not a planned conspiracy.

Also, as I remember, Death Stranding 1.01 patch was around 5GB of bug fixing material. So saying that launch went smooth isn't exactly truthful.

I just wish games like this would dispense with all the tedious stuff (like constant harvesting and boring side missions) even if it meant that games were a little bit shorter and more streamlined.

You really don't have to do side missions in the game. The guy could just gallop through the main missions and ignore the rest. And unlike most RPGs, side missions are surprisingly high on production values on HZD. Nor you need to harvest much. Arrow and basic ammunition are more than abundant in the game. If he critiqued the need of inventory management because it'd fill so easily I'd get that and agree, but harvesting? Come on...

The most interesting thing about this announcement is that, a little while back, someone "leaked" that Days Gone would get a PC port this year...but so would Bloodborne towards the autumn months. I still don't trust rando "leaks" like that, but hey it's a promising start ;O;

Shame Days Gone is meh as fuck though, would've rather seen another PS exclusive personally. Oh well, as long as Sony keeps sticking with their promise to bring more exclusives to PC I won't complain.

Horizon was optimized quite a bit since release, both at driver and game level.

Sony already showed us that Demons Souls is coming to pc, and unless they change their mind I expect an announcement soon.

Its not the multiple configurations that cause issues with the pc version, thats just pr talk mostly. Multiple configurations are annoying for testing, and you might get weird specific bugs, but its no excuse when games all use APIs to detach from specific configurations. Its really just AMD driver and Nvidia driver, you dont code to a specific video card model...

Days gone ran very poorly on ps4 day 1, which is just another example of how these things happen regardless of platform.

This looks like the most generic Zombie game ever made, no wonder Sony axed a sequel. Almost mistake it for one of those shitty Walking Dead games.

^ people who default to excuses like this lmao
A good pc can power through the shitness. If youre on intels integrated graphics, optimised games can also run like ass
^ i dont even know what to say at this point lol
why would they make integrated graphics if it doesn't work with any games

You should update the 360 to newest dash before RGHing it yes. But not a big deal if you don't, you can install new dash/avatar updates after. It's just easier to do it auto online before, instead manual offline after.

@BigOnYa I wanted to ask you about your experience with seeing south park. Most of the people a bit younger like my younger brother and cousins that are a few younger than me that saw kids found south park funny because of the curse words, kids at school, that seemed like liking the show on a very basic level.

I could not quite have a in depth discussion of the show.

How was it for you? As an adult. What did you find the most interesting part about it. Did you relate to the parents of the kids and their situations. Was it satires, the commentary on society. The references on celebrities' and pop culture.

I remember seeing the very first episode back in the day, and have watched every episode since. I used to set my VCR to record them even, shows how long ago.

I just like any comedies really, and cartoons have always been a favorite of mine. Family guy, American Dad, Futurama, Cleveland Show, Simpsons - I like them all.
