It's not leaked footage if it's not blurry and taken at a weird angle, which is exactly what this supposed video for FromSoftware's Elden Ring is. Announced almost two years ago, the latest game from the Dark Souls developer hasn't had much information or footage given since its reveal. It seems that Bandai Namco was going to put out a new trailer, though, as Bloomberg's Jason Schreier stated that there was "strong evidence" that they would be showing the game off soon, but it seems that soon wasn't soon enough. A "confidential" file featuring scenes from Elden Ring has supposedly leaked online, consisting of a heavily watermarked trailer that features what is likely gameplay of Elden Ring. Following this, it was found that Bandai Namco had trademarked the term "Bandai Namco NEXT", which may be the company's new Nintendo Direct-like presentation where that trailer would be showcased in full.

I like the seemingly more open world aspects this trailer shows off, which is something I've always wanted to see from a Soulsborne game, so definitely keeps the hype up for Elden Ring.

But I'm still not expecting anything until like late 2022 or 2023 TBH.

From what I read around, seems like the leaked trailer shows off the game from a development build around a year ago. So whatever trailer comes up in the near future may not actually reflect the current/recent status of how the game is.

Supposedly it was recorded using a 3DS, which I can definitely believe based on the quality and length of the videos rofl.

The game will probably finish development two years or so before GRRM finishes writing the story.

There are plenty of Soulslikes out there...just not very many good ones. Salt and Sanctuary, the Nioh series, and Remnant From the Ashes are really the only ones I can wholeheartedly recommend. Elderborn and Jedi Fallen Order are both pretty good too, but I wouldn't say they're actually Soulslikes. On the other end of the spectrum, I'd avoid Immortal Planet, Lords of the Fallen, and Mortal Shell, which are all hot garbage.

In general it's much easier to find quality roguelikes and roguelites. I have over sixty of 'em in my Steam library reviewed at 85% positive or better.
