Hi folks

Despite persona 4 being on PC and all I'm still looking forward to getting a vita now that my old PSP is gone and done for.
I know that the fat vita has an oled screen with better picture quality but does the slim variant last longer on battery?
What's the actual difference in terms of battery life?

I really would like to buy a vita for cheap but not sure which one to get.

Hello @NoNAND , the 1000 model has the better screen due to the OLED screen but it also heavier compared to the 2000 model, which has the LDC screen. The 1000 model offers around 4 hours of battery life and the 2000 model offers around 6 hours of battery life. 1000 model use a proprietary charging port and the 2000 model use micro usb so easier to replace if the cable stop working.

Because of all of these GTA ports that are being released for the PSP/PSVita, it's been making me want one as well. I've been searching online. I've found out that the Vita is superior over the PSP, but those Vitas are expensive! Used, they cost as much as a Nintendo Switch lite. Whew!

just buy a Japanese Vita, I recently bought one(though it still hasn't arrived yet) for $94 USD, the only major difference is that o and x are swapped, but make sure to get a charger for your region though

Also LCDs do last longer than OLED.

OLED get damaged faster despite having better quality of visuals.

Is also easier to replace a LCD.

you can swap buttons with the system.dreg or henkaku settings. I changed mine in the system.dreg on my pc and sent it through the email exploit back on 3.20, and it appears that henkaku settings changes it in memory, because mine still shows circle for confirm using an American system. be careful with a Japanese system. the ps vita can only be downgraded back to its base firmware, just like the ps3, so some systems can't be downgraded back far enough to allow enso even on 3.65.

If you get an old Vita, it has to have a Sony Vita card. If you get the 3G model there is an adaptor for it that supposedly gives less trouble that the sdtovita. Beware that hacking a Vita beyond Firmware 3.60 is complicated and nowadays Final h doesn't block Vita firmware update requests so if you have firmware 3.61 and over you will have to do a manual hack.

The Nintendo 64 emulator is good and the Dreamcast emulator is quite new but hopefully will get better.

Despite what you may think, there is no way to run PS2 games on the Vita, not by emulation, as the hardware is not powerful enough. There is however a few PS2 games that were ported to be Vita, the best port being the The first three Sly Cooper games collection.

On a hacked Vita, The PSP emulation is quite good and the PS1 emulation is better that it was on the PSP. In fact more PS1 games are playable on the Vita than in the PSP!
