Really nice theme, congratulations my friend! Finally another good theme to use on latest Wiiflow.:)
ok, a couple of suggestions:
- Personally, I would remove the Super Mario Bros. logo from the Wii source button. It could be a little misleading, being more in evidence than the Wii logo, aligned alongside the other systems logos. I would put more emphasys on the Wii logo, the SMB logo is unnecessary in my opinion.
- I notice in the video that sometimes box proportions are not correct.
Some examples:
Nes covers are too wide
GB/ GBC / GBA covers look vertically stretched. They look ok when you switch to the "wheel" coverflow, though
Genesis too tall
PS1 covers too slim
etc...
If you use my coverflows you'll find the correct ones (Except for Game Gear, which should be cart_box for the american covers, I will update it soon).
You can find them cycling with the 1 or 2 button on the wiimote. Lock coverflows layouts from settings afterwards.

Keep up the good work :yaywii:

I know what you mean, after a while the coverflow entries were starting to blur in notepad++ on my screen, lol
But yeah, I need to fix those, thank you!

The quickest way around would be to just copy my coverflows, then in wiiflow adjust coverflow, only change cover position, title position, cover angle, but not touching cover scale.
However if you don't want to follow this route, here is the coverflows names you should look. You can find them all in platform.ini under FLOWS.
CART_BOX for NES, SG-1000, Master System, Megadrive, GameGear, Atari 2600/5200/7800, Intellivision, Creativision, Colecovision, Videopac (Odyssey), Amstrad, Turbografx, PCFX, TO5, BBC Micro, Neo Geo. VG5000, Vectrex, COCO, TRS80, Dragon3264, MSX.
SMALLCART_BOX for GB, GBC, GBA, Lynx, Virtual Boy, NDS, Wonderswan, Neopocket
CD_CASE maybe this is already correct on your side. You can just press 1 or 2 on the wiimote and select the CD Case with wider spine. The slim one can be used for standard cd's like PC engine, PCECD, SGFX.

Edit 1:
the vertical one is for the FDS.
Don't forget that in coverflow ini, each coverflow has a "_S" version, this is for the selected cover.

Edit 2:
As you can see in my themes_lite/coverflows/Rhapsodii Shima.ini, I have 2 modes in CART_BOX, that is two coverflows. I made a "fat" one to use with the NES, but I'm not sure if it's good.
You can add as many coverflows as you like, and they can be totally different, but don't forget to update the
[CART_BOX] number_of_modes

I almost have this setup working. How did you enable the source flow? Mine cycles through homebrew apps if I back out far enough, but you seem to have the ability to select by each console type.

@calhoward, hi I had the same issue and this is how i solved it!
  1. Make sure that you have selected the correct theme under Settings -> Page 2 -> Theme -> Carbonix (NOT Carbonix-NS)
  2. Go to Settings -> Page 12 -> Sourceflow settings -> Set, and turn everything to ON (the 2nd and 3rd might not be needed)
  3. Go to the 4th option and select GO, this will trigger the covers being converted
  4. After its done press cancel, top right corner and now everything should be working!
  5. Press the B button a few times to confirm.
Also, for others both the Non-source_menu version and the source_menu version are included in the download link. The difference can be selected in Settings -> Page 2 -> Theme. I spent too much time searching the source_menu version in the links provided and not realizing it's a matter of changing the theme in the settings.

Thanks. I’d actually solved it on my own just last night. Not quite sure what I did specifically, but posting my “solution” that got me to the working source flow screen, in case anyone on Google is looking in the future:

I started fresh with the Danimal master pack and tried copying the Carbonix theme over. That broke it, so I upgraded WiiFlow to the latest version 5.4.8 and wrote over the WiiFlow version that came bundled with Danimal’s pack. Suddenly I had replicated what’s seen in the demo video.

I’ve just gotta say, this is one of the cleanest menus I’ve ever see in any front-end emulation system. Bravo. I already have quite a few people that have witnessed my setup and want me to install it on their old Wii’s so they can get put back into use. This is a great feeling.

I’m going to build off this theme since my end goal is to install this Wii in my vehicle as a “car-puter” entertainment system. I’m systematically reworking buttons/various UI to match my car’s interior and throwing some of the manufacturer’s (Nissan) logos in for an OEM feel.

Specifically, I need to tweak the default WiiFlow loading image. I see your custom loading loop in the wait_imgs directory, but I can’t figure out how you configured it to load. The only way I see how to cleanly do this is to compile WiiFlow from source using devppc, seeing that the default loading image set comes from the source code, which is simple enough, but I feel like I’m missing something and it should be easier than that. What did you do to alter it? I’ve installed WiiFlow with PriiLoader if that makes a difference

@calhoward ,Good to hear you were able to solve it!

"Specifically, I need to tweak the default WiiFlow loading image. I see your custom loading loop in the wait_imgs directory, but I can’t figure out how you configured it to load."

I can't post the link but go to gbatemp.net/threads/wiiflow-lite.422685/page-114#post-8924240
Basically, go to [SD]/apps/wiiflow and edit the meta.xml file to set the path to the wait_img folder

Also, yeah this theme is absolutely awesome! The Rhapsodii Shima theme is not my taste so I was very happy to see a Carbonix theme. Great work @biggzsizzle !

@biggzsizzle, maybe a bug but I can't change the view for N64 and Gameboy games to more than 3 different views. With the GameCube and WII games I can change to I guess 8 different views. Is this on purpose and could I maybe change that?

With views I mean when you have selected a source and then how the games are arranged to be chosen.

I started fresh with the Danimal master pack
That is always a bad idea. Too old and full of issues.
From now on, the best thing everyone should do is just installing the latest Wiiflow + Plugins Pack + desired theme. Clean and simple. Then you decide which plugins to "activate" using WFL's Source Menu Setup.
@biggzsizzle Is there a specific reason to release a separate version without the source menu? It won't overwrite other source menu's because each theme has a separate folder for it. But maybe the worst thing that could happen is that if people try to use their own source menu's, they could not have the correct magic numbers present in the latest platform.ini, so weird things could happen to them (no games or plugins found, wrong backgrounds, duplicated games etc..).

Yeah I found that out the hard way, too many errors and I eventually did start from scratch and now everything works perfectly!

it's not a bug. You can define the number of "views" (from now on "coverflows") going to
wiiflow/themes_lite/coverflows/[theme name].ini
and edit the file relative to your theme. Each coverflow has a set number of modes
Example for Gameboy:
[SMALLCART_BOX]
number_of_modes=3
You can increase this number to a desired value, but then you must also add the new coverflow(s) below.
A simple way to do it, is copying and pasting the [SMALLCART_BOX_3] and [SMALLCART_BOX_3_S] sections and renaming them with 4 instead of 3.
Then in Wiiflow, go to Gameboy. Open settings page 2 --> adjust coverflow.
Click on the little number in the top-left corner (unless @biggzsizzle changed its position) until you reach number 4.
Then make all your adjustments and save.
A litte tedious but I don't know of a better way.

To know the names of the coverflows, you can open platform.ini and scroll down to the [FLOWS] section.

[B]@biggzsizzle[/B] Is there a specific reason to release a separate version without the source menu?

Yes, the very reason is because there are still plenty of users who don't care to play with all the emulation (plugins). Don't get me wrong, they're STILL there in the NS theme, but it's more of a "manual" configuration if you wish to use them. And frankly, there are still A LOT of people out there, that aren't skilled or savvy enough to take on WiiFlow head on in the use it was intended for.. (correct me if I'm wrong,..) But I've always been under the impression WiiFlow was meant to be a complete All-In-One solution for doing completely away with the Wii system menu.

And @calhoward ,.. the secret to that loading image setting and configuration is in the
sd:/apps/wiiflow/meta.xml file,....

Can anyone help me with this? The source menu looks all weird. I have two different wii systems and one looks normal with the theme and the source menu on the other looks weird. Nothing else is wrong with the theme just the source menu. If anyone could help me that would be appreciated. I can move left, right, up, and down for some weird reason.

beekdorrr - I have the same issue, digging around to find a fix - I'll let you know if I have any luck ;D

Solved - set my ratio back to 16:9 in the wii settings and all looking good.

On another note: does anyone happen to know the correct sample rate for background music to play correctly? I've converted to 128kbps but the audio is still slowed down and stretched.

Edit - looks like the conversion didnt work and files stayed at 320kbps... converted to .ogg and all working.

Bud, honestly, use your own media files. I've used 128, 256, 320 with mono stereo, full stereo, 44.1KHz, 48KHz,...mp3, ogg, wav whatever...and never had a real problem. Anytime that audio stretches or sounds crazy,..I literally delete that song and find something else lol
