Hacking Switch firmware updated and now im stuck with fat 32 sd card.

Hello all.

My cousin acidentally updated his switch firmware trough the console by conecting it to the internet.

Now atsmophere boots into black screen with the message nx boot failed to load package 1.

I copied everything from that sd card installed a latest version of atmosphere and got a black screen with the mesaage your console firmware is non exfat and your sd card is exfat , format your sd card to fat 32 or manually install exfat drivers to package 2.

I setup a second sd card and installed the backup of the first in the new fat 32 card, now the console boots but all the data go corrupted, goldleaf doesnt works anymore as console firmware is in 11.0.1 and i cant install files larger then 4gb in the sd card as i used to do.

I used aiwoo installer and managed to install kirby figthers and it worked but mu biggest problem now is the best games have more gb and i was used to install them trough the micro sd card.

Is there a way to downgrade console firmware？？？

Can i do anything besides using the sd card in fat.32？

As the console is not mine im.a bit worried, because i cant find a proper way to fix it...

I just googled "manually install exfat drivers to package 2" and the first hit was a pretty good guide.

You could also just re-install the firmware with Daybreak and get exfat support that way.

you can reinstall the same firmware with Daybreak that comes with Atmosphere and choose Fat32 + ExFat but you dont need
exfat card to install big games you can install games directly from your PC no need to copy them to your sd card with Awoo Installer and NS-USBLoader you can even do that from your Android phone no one copies games to sd card to install them its pointless

But reinstalling the same firmware using daybreak wont brick the console？ as i dont know if it burnt any fuses, the console had autorcm enabled, but was conect and updated by nintendo system update and not trough choudjoir. And when it rebooted my cousin got a black screen fatal error failed nx boot package 1.

Then i updated atmos and got the message you can see on the 2 file.

But i dont want fat 32 sd card. As installing 15 games he owned previously via usb will take much time as they were all above 10 gb..
My main problem is this.

Why ask for help if you aren't gonna use it? You got your answer within an hour of posting. Use a fat32 card to re-install the current firmware with Daybreak and make sure you select fat32+exfat support. Then continue using the original exfat card.

But my fear is i will brick the console by doing this. As i have never done it and it was updated trougth the switch by going online. Or isnt there any risk by doing that reinstal with daybreak？

I've been "stuck" with Fat32 for almost 3 years, and I refuse to ever go back to exfat. All you have to do is learn to install games from usb which is better and faster anyway.

Daybreak uses the exact same update functions as a system update over a game cartridge. It is safe, particularly when you are just reinstalling the same system version you already have installed to get exFAT support.

That being said, exFAT is definitely not recommended, since the exFAT drivers on the Switch are demonstrably buggy, and it increases the likelihood of data corruption on the SD card. Back up the contents of your SD card and reformat the SD card as FAT32. There is literally no reason to be on exFAT, since you should never ever install an NSP file directly from the SD card. It's both space and time inefficient to do so. NSP files should be installed over an online or USB connection.

You are more than doubling the install time by installing from an NSP on the SD card, since you're having to send the NSP from the computer to the SD, then installing from the SD. It's more time efficient to install directly from the NSP on the computer over a USB connection.

You also have more space on the SD available to install games to when you install over USB. If you install from NSP files on the SD card, you require double the space of the game, since you need space for the game and space for the NSP on the SD card. If you install over USB or online, you only need space on the SD for the game itself.

Im not used to work with fat 32 thats the problem. Requires now to learn how to install games trough usb. As my cousin had games likr zelda wich is 16bb, super smash bros will all the dlcs. And to make it back as the switch was it will require a lot of work. It was a christmas gift. My personal swich is exfat.

Backup the contents of the SD card, reformat it as FAT32, and restore the files. You don't have to reinstall anything that's already installed.

Also, no Switch should have an SD card that's exFAT.
