Lost Media: Unreleased, Playable Tomb Raider Game Surfaces Online

A Tomb Raider game lost to time has resurfaced online and is playabe if you you're willing to compile some source code. "Tomb Raider: 10th Anniversary Edition" was a remake of the original game in development for the PSP by Core Design. Although the title was said to be "almost finished" according to the studio's manager Gavin Rummery, the game was scrapped and re-skinned into an Indiana Jones game which also ended up on the chopping block as the studio closed its doors in 2010. Crystal Dynamics focused on the multiplatform "Tomb Raider: Anniversary" and the "10th Anniversary Edition" became one of the unattainable Holy Grails for the Tomb Raider fanbase, until today. Now you'll be able to play the alpha version of the title and explore the Croft Mansion, Greece and Peru levels as long as you have Visual Studio and a compatible game controller. Although the levels feature no enemies, it's always fun to see what could've been.

Here's a direct link to what's found on the Internet Archive, linked from the original PCGamer article: https://archive.org/details/IndyTRAEbuild
The source link also leads to this resource. The collectors behind the release have contacted the original creators of the content, to no avail, and subsequently published their findings on Archive.org which enjoys a DMCA exemption for lost Media that's at risk of disappearing completely. Should the link prove to be troublesome, we'll remove it, but I doubt that will be the case - if PCGamer can link to the alpha build, I don't see why we can't.

Hopefully someone posts the game for everyone to play without messing around compiling etc.
Like that saints row psp game a few years back, you download it and it doesn't run without user doing something stupid the original uploader could of done to save others time.

Good to see this

A cancelled PSP remake that requires a PC to play?

Is technically possible to run it on a PSP but no one has turned the unfinished game code into a playable Rom yet.

Also since the game lacks enemies... what are you gonna do, import them from the Playstation games?

In all fairness, the game probably looks better on PC than it would've ever looked on PSP, unconstrained by many of the console's limitations.
