What I don't get is this:

Private use means available for use by the owner or by the owner and other persons authorized by the owner.

In this context "private" means that I don't upload NSP/PKG/VPK files anywhere on the internet. Meaning they don't leave my computer and consoles that I own.

Even in that context they couldn't enforce it that way. By US law it's what I posted before. Under Canadian law it actually allows for some business use. They can't just redefine what personal use is. To claim distribution they would have to show monetary exchange. This site openly discusses pirated Nintendo content, what do they expect to accomplish here? They only thing mods would care about is directly linking to copyrighted work, they aren't here to enforce the DMCA. Just don't directly link here or use any of those silly ad redirects.

Do they forget it's not their IP to claim? Or would they like to talk to Nintendo about it?

Also, they come to GBATemp expecting a license to be enforced? lol
Have they not caught up to the SX OS, Tinfoil and many other dramas regarding to "licenses"? xD
It's always cute to see new people in the Temp :3

Anyway, the source is there with no idiotic obfuscation this time, and anyone can make a build of it to whatever device or console they want. If a build pops up, then cry a river, but don't expect a court action over something that's been previously C&D, since it that case the prosecutor might become the prosecuted ;)

Seriously, let's just stop this stupid bickering, and let us all just enjoy the game through whatever device we like, that's all.

I wrote here in hopes that moderators would at least desire to protect the rights developers have over code and assets they created. It would appear however, that GBAtemp is every bit as careless a forum as I've heard.

So be it.

Anyway, has anyone had issues with v1.4.3 with the gallery images?
I seem to have unlocked all of them, but the gallery images seem to behave rather strangely.

I'll repeat myself, just in case:
There will be no public release of the port. Aside from screenshots and maybe gameplay videos.

Also, you are very, very, very, VERY naive.
Seriously, the world isn't about rainbows, be a little more realistic in the future please.

Have you even modded a console at least *once* in your life? :/

If there's no release, then I've got no beef with you and there's nothing more to be done here. Private work ain't my business... just what our project gets represented as publicly. I simply can't find it in myself to trust you based on your past actions.

"Expect the worst, hope for the best."

I have no beef with console modding in general - I've even homebrewed my Wii. I just care what consequences may come of my team's work being put somewhere it doesn't belong. Notice how I've never done anything about your 1.1 port... because it's not my team's work.

Assuming that you have no intentions of releasing a Switch port, we're on passable terms.

You should take a page from the SM64 recompilation project and just make a script so others can compile this on their own computers. I still find this entire situation silly since in name it's still Nintendo's IP. If they really wanted to keep Nintendo's eyes as far away as possible then all art assets should have been remade to use non-Metroid artwork, but then it would just be another fan game wouldn't it and would anyone even care?

If you still haven't heard, there's a port of Another Metroid 2 Remake 1.4.3 to the Nintendo Switch.
It is distributed as an NSP file, because this port is using GameMaker Studio 2 engine (not the Undertale revision, that means less bugs)

NSP link: *snip*
Link to LayeredFS mod with High Quality music: *snip*

UPD: osaka35 has redacted the links to "*snip*", links will be updated with a new way to get the port.

Russian translation bundled btw.
Share this port to your friends, I wanna make sure everyone knows about it.

Savefiles are compatible with saves from PC version of 1.4.3, use Checkpoint to modify your save folder.

Known Issues:
1. Installing with Tinfoil sometimes doesn't work, please use Goldleaf/Goldbricks (or DBI, if you know this)
2. Playing with a single joycon is not allowed, controller applet won't let you launch the game. (how would you do that anyway)
3. PLEASE INSTALL SIGPATCHES! THEY ARE REQUIRED TO PLAY THIS PORT!

Porting 1.5 update is not possible because developers are against Switch ports, and they tried to sabotage me by exploiting one GM:S 1.4's feature called YYC.

Sorry, dude. I'm new at this. Where can I get the link?

*ahem*

modifiers.ini cannot be written to.
It will work, but it will make a new copy of the file in the savedata space.
That means, whatever you had in the modifiers.ini in the game folder will be ignored, GameMaker will prefer the file in the save directory.
Thank god it made console builds crash (it's not possible to write to app0:/RomFS, and it won't make a copy, it will crash instead), I noticed it. :\
There is config.ini for that purpose, just write seed there instead?

You disregard everything I have ever asked in regard to the Community Updates, and you now expect me to help you with a console- specific issue against the very license I wrote?

Maybe you should take your own advice about naivety. ;)

Should honestly go without saying at this point but I'm done here. What needed to be said was stated, and anything more will only result in more problems for all involved.

...that also happens with Desktop, and Mobile, not only Consoles.
GameMaker will ignore the modifiers.ini file in the game directory once you save your changes in the Gameplay menu.
