Welcome, December, and welcome, new Nintendo Switch firmware update. We have officially reached firmware version 11.0.0, and it brings with it more than just stability. Firstly, you now get a Nintendo Switch Online icon added to your home menu, which allows quick access to anything NSO related. The album has also been improved, as you can transfer screenshots directly from your Switch to a smartphone. As of this update, users will also be able to prioritize which games they wish to have downloaded first, when downloading multiple games at once. For those concerned over homebrew access, for now, it’s advised to not update to 11.0.0 until a new version of Atmosphere is released.

A new feature that automatically downloads backed up save data was added to the Save Data Cloud.

  • When using software with the same Nintendo Account linked to multiple systems, save data backed up from one console will automatically be downloaded to your other system(s).
*To use this feature, it must be enabled under System Settings > Data Management > Save Data Cloud.
*Save data will not be downloaded automatically unless save data for that software exists on the console. The first time only, users must download the save data manually.
*A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use the Save Data Cloud service.
A new Trending feature was added to the User Page.

  • Users can check what software their friends are playing or have started playing recently.
Information will not be displayed for friends who have their online status set to display to no one.
Users can now transfer screenshots and videos from Album to their smart devices.

  • Users can wirelessly connect their smart devices to Nintendo Switch to transfer the screenshots and videos saved within their Album.
  • For screenshots, users can transfer a maximum of 10 screenshots and 1 video capture at once.
*To connect, users must use their smart device to scan the QR Code displayed on the Nintendo Switch screen.
For more information, please refer to the Nintendo Support website.
*“QR Code” is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.
A new Copy to a Computer via USB Connection feature was added under System Settings > Data Management > Manage Screenshots and Videos.

  • Users can use a USB cable to connect Nintendo Switch to their computers to copy the screenshots and videos saved under Album.
    * A USB charging cable [model HAC-010] or a USB-IF certified USB cable that supports data transfer is required to connect to a computer.
For more information, please refer to the Nintendo Support website.
    * Connection via the Nintendo Switch dock is not supported. Please connect the Nintendo Switch system directly to the computer.
Users can now select what download to prioritize when there are multiple downloads in progress.

  • When there are multiple software, update data, or downloadable content downloads in progress, users can now select which they want to download first.
  • You can set this under Download Options by selecting the icon for the software you want to download first on the HOME Menu.
User icons were added.

  • 12 user icons that commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. series were added.
Users can now name preset button mappings with the Change Button Mapping feature.

Brazilian Portuguese was added as a supported language.

  • When users set their region to the Americas and their language to Português, the language used on the HOME Menu and in certain software will be displayed in Brazilian Portuguese.
Several issues were fixed, and usability and stability were improved.

Maybe, repacking (via NSCB or something) can do the thing?
Repacking won't do anything.

ok... and even my dumbass could've added support for that... nothing special or impressive there.
Scires was working on another thing at that time iirc

i'm literally just saying to those speaking in absolutes to show any proof that tx is actually working on an update since they so boldly claim they already are... it's not rocket science really.
I really don’t see why it’s too much to ask them for proof when someone making such a bold claim like this one
I'm not sure what proof one could provide that would appease you. A photo of "Team Xecuter" at their computers, working hard on the update?

@DarkMatterCore is this something you might be able to hook in to? Funny if they used some of your libs.
Not at all. I've read about some of the changes, and they introduced a new capmtp service that acts as a background MTP responder (sorta). I have never written any MTP code.

nxmtp might be dead at this point if the changes made to usb:ds are too critical, though. Which is a shame, I loved that app and I bet lots of people around here still do.

Oh goody. Another major number jump, with bullshit features added. GG Nintendo. Oh, but wait... We can FINALLY transfer via USB? What is this? 2006? My God... People in here worried about SX. I'm more concerned that Ninty really is so out of touch with gamers these days that basic features are something they brag about adding almost 4 years later.
Contrary to most people think, it's way easier to transfer via a USB SSD. I download my XCI's/NSP's straight to my USB SSD from my computer, and it's way faster than trying to use the onboard WLAN. You have to remember that the switch IS a portable console, which makes it easier to put it anywhere and install whatever you need.

A screenshot from an email or something would be nice. He made a bold claim that it will be out within 24 hours, I don't see why it's a hassle to ask him to back it up with at least a screenshot or something to tell us how he is so certain an update will be out so soon. It not like we are asking that much of him. There's literally no reason to trust him without any form of proof.

I think it's more than obvious that TX will be working on updates. People/programmers behind the project are still active and chips available to install and licensing available to activate. We don't need any proof more obvious than this

I'd like to think this is true. As it makes the most sense. TX was a team of people. Not just the three involved in the current legal spat.

even though I'm legit, I don't want to update until atmosphere does. I do like the save downloading function though. originally, it would save you by not downloading a save (in case you forgot when you opened the game) due to the save having the wrong time stamp. now, there may be no way of accidentally uploading a new save if you own more than one switch. that was one of my biggest concerns. I downloaded all of my saves (50-sometimes I think) which was tedious a while back.

I'm not updating yet. I also hate how this stupid update forces an unwanted NSO paywall icon on my Home screen - fuck dat shit. Can I delete it, considering I will NEVER waste money on that scam they added a year after the console's release showing just how pointless and anti-customer the paywall is but added anyway to copy Sony's and Microsoft's bullshit?

I'm only a member of nso for the cloud saving. after my first switch died of nand corruption, I don't want to lose all my saves again. I also kinda like the nes/snes games (already beaten super mario world, bof 1, and maybe one or two others). I'm a ways into bof2 (overworld music changed). I've not played a game online though. there are four things I want in an update: themes, folders, exporting saves via usb, and achievements. folders is probable, but the others seem unlikely if nintendo's thinking was indeed minimalist.
