ROM Hack Pokemon Sword w/Expansion Questions

Hi guys. I have been thinking about picking up Pokemon Sword that comes with both Expansions/DLC, but have a few questions before I proceed:

- Is it true that the Expansions come on the actual game cart instead of being downloaded?

If yes to above:

- What System FW is required? I think my hackable Switch is on 10.1
- Does it work with Checkpoint? Also, does it use a different Title ID than the regular Pokemon Sword game cart?
- Does it work with PkHex?

Thoughts and help greatly appreciated on all of this

Basically, the expansion is inside the Update and the DLC merely unlock that contents. So no, the DLC isn't on the cartidge.

- 10.1 is fine, but taht's not a problem: you can hack the console with any update. If you are in a older FW, simply update using Daybreak
- Of course not. The Expansion pass is simply an update of the game. THe title id is the same, but the BID change with every update.

Thanks for the info! I have 2 more questions though before I do anything:

- If the Title ID is the same, how can I use Checkpoint with this version? I also have regular Pokemon Sword on game cart
- Do I need to download anything with this version of game? I have my hackable Switch disconnected from the internet.

To get DLC you need to download update, as was stated before.

If you are going to keep it offline, look for the nsp file and inject the dlc, it wont make a difference because you are not going online.
Also the dlc pokemons can be traded without the dlc's, so if you only want the pokes use pkhex
