Don't buy the crap that "gamecube is impossible on the switch". It probably won't happen because it would be a ton of effort, but it's definitely possible.

Chances are Nintendo will “remaster” a bunch more games using the GC emu.

...but hopefully the method will be cracked and we can try our own :ninja:

I've been going through my entire switch collection without walkthroughs, and speaking of gamecube, I've been stuck on the "first"? yoshi shine in sunshine for over seven hours with the 3d all star collection. I keep coming back to it, being unable to find yoshi despite the level saying he's in there. lol

might need more than one game to hex compare them. that might've been the problem since it's three games, three different emulators.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

what I'd like is for Nintendo to offer symphonia at some point (if possible). it's possible that it's similar to the ps4 where there might need be a need for more than one emulator. the ps2 emulator on the ps4 uses rogue galaxy and jak and daxter from what I remember. both emulators are the most robust, so if a game doesn't work with one, you can try the other. you can also use config and lua to patch certain graphical or other issues, but they usually have to be minor to medium issues. major issues would probably require a new emulator. who knows if nintendo just made the emulator perfect for 3d all stars alone or if they have other intentions. anyway, imo, symphonia and tales of destiny 2 (the JP one) are the two best tales of games. vesperia and abyss are also quite good.

lol :rofl2:

I got so far with it and really hated the revised feel of the controls. BUT, since the new update I plan to try playing the rest with a wired GC pad.

I have installed Android, Ubuntu and Horizon on my SD. I was testing dolphin on Ubuntu and Android, and you can actually play GC and Wii games on this way. Is not the same, but works, and actually works better than playing on lakka.

there's an update that can use a gc controller? I know I would sometimes get confused with the water nozzle standing or moving being different buttons.

Tbh plenty of gamecube run fullspeed at 1700 cpu, which is the chips standard clock speed. It is underclocked in horizon to get more battery life from the switch.

only the smash controllers, I assume?

I have the entire collection:

I'll have to see if my system updated it.

Cheaper and they are less stingy with the RAM not a big issue now but I can imagine in a yard or two things might be different
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Year not yard lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Interesting lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1

When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
