I realise a lot of people may already know about this program and what it can do, but for newbies (myself included) Moba Live CD allows you to run Linux from USB without rebooting your computer. It is freeware and portable. Helpful when you need to see if your ventoy theme is working as it should.

On some ISOs, as MediCat 18, gave me error because a i386 CPU.

Does it work on your System?

Here it's I5 2410.

While this works for some, it doesn't work for me on my gaming PC. I have to tell VMware v16 to use a physical USB, and select both partitions, and THEN it finally boots properly. (And I keep getting weird permission errors when the vhdx file gets saved or loaded from the default location, it's weird.) But I have my development laptop (as seen in my blog) that has this VMware setup as well, and it works flawlessly for me. Saves me many reboots. I used to develop on my Gaming PC and then test boot on my laptop, but now in VMware I can test out many resolutions to make sure everything is scaling as it should. And everything in the MediCat USB menu scales nicely between 1920x1080 and 640x480, and all the resolutions in-between. Going smaller than 640x480 isn't recommended because the font doesn't scale, and you'll be pretty hard-pressed to find any screens that require that low of a resolution on a modern PC. Most low-end laptops have 1366x768 screens, like mine. Some have mid-range have 1920x1080, and higher-end laptops might be 2560x1440. But I've personally never come across any computer that could use a resolution higher than 1920x1080 in boot UEFI mode. So for me, the VMware method is what I prefer. It gets me the test results I need to keep up improvements.

MediCat USB got a review on Britec Youtube channel today:whip:
My mom's internet here is DSL, so I can't stream any videos on it, but I'll gladly take a look at it when I get the chance. It's rare to find a MediCat video that's not in French or Spanish, it seems. I love Tech2tech's videos, but they're never in English. He makes good thumbnails for his videos too. I love the thumbnail he made where it has the MediCat on it, and it's all green, black, and gray themed. It's a cool look.

I made the Windows 8 and Windows 10 icons more distinguishable, and they are named windows8.png and windows10.png, respectively. I think the new icon looks great.

Hello! Today I entered the mega directory given by You. In the "instructions" directory is step by step how to create a bootable USB flash drive. In the third step, you need to specify the location of the "extracted" .img file. And here comes my question: which archive do I need to download and extract to find this file? I watched a tutorial (from 2019) in which you had to select the MediCat USB directory. Unfortunately, it isn't there now : /.

(Sorry for my English, it isn't very good; Thanks in advance for any help)

Best regards

You download ALL of the numbered 7z files, and extract only the 001 file. It will extract the .img file from the rest automatically.

Is the update only file for v20.10.1 coming soon?
Not this week, I'm out of town without good internet access, sadly. I come home later this weekend.

Hello, I have downloaded ALL files multiple time thinking there was an issue when the download was being processed. My issue is that when attempting to Extract .001 file i receive a message that the file is corrupted.

Thank you will try 7-zip.

Okay, So with 7-Zip I am able to see the file as well as extract it. What it's happening now is when it gets extracted it does not extract as an .img file also the files size stays the same and the file type shows as "7Z-004 File". Not sure if something wrong is being done on my end. All I am doing is selecting the .001 file and using 7-Zip to extract. Attached an image with both files to show how they look before and after extracting. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Those files look like they've been renamed. I didn't name them like that. That could be part of the problem. This is how they should look on your end:

Thank you again that was definitely the issue. Not sure why when downloading the files every time they would get renamed on it's own. Went back to re-download the files but this time one at a time vs all together.

I can't access the folders I click and don't open anything

I've never used those, but I think they get created on the root of the drive after a while by itself. You could always make those folders on your own and see how that goes.
