PlayStation Plus games for November announced, includes Bugsnax for PS5

Featured-Image-PS-Plus-November-lineup-announcement.jpg
November's right around the corner, and with it comes the launch of the PS5.

On November 3rd PlayStation Plus members will receive two PS4 games: Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition.

In addition, beginning on November 12, PlayStation Plus members who own a PlayStation 5 console will receive Bugsnax for the PS5.

This is an interesting move because it appears to break away from the precedent that you do not need to own a specific console in order to redeem PS+ titles. Whereas you can redeem the PS4 titles without owning a PS4, Sony has implied that a PS5 is necessary to redeem Bugsnax.

Good. Because PS Now library is hundreds of titles larger for a lower price. Just sayin'.
Lower price, maybe, but excluding streaming-only PS3 games, it's certainly not any larger or better. Game Pass library is just drastically superior all around, especially since it has a ton of expensive titles from day one.

I'm not saying that out of "SONY SUCC MS GUD" - just that it would be cool if Sony gave their playerbase some better subscription offerings than what they have now (would give me more incentive to buy PS5 for sure).

The "PS5 Console only" is there because the game is also releasing on PS4 but you don't get the PS4 version for free with PS Plus. I don't see how this implies that you need to own a PS5 to claim the game.

Anyone else remember when the PS4 got Resogun at launch? What the fuck happened? Also, who wants to place bets on how long it takes for the PS5 to get Super Duper Stardust Ultra Mega?

So let me get this straight. 100 titles for GamePass at a higher price, is BETTER than PS Now with 300 titles at a lower price? Better subscription offerings? The cost of combined PS subscriptions is lower than the cost of combined XB subscriptions. And they also ADDED the PS Plus collection to the PS5. I don't know what you're talking about with this "not any larger or better", "better subscription offerings", and "Game Pass library is just drastically superior" nonsense.

GamePass offers every first-party release, all EA games, most Bethesda games, tons of ongoing partnerships, and a great deal of day-one titles (both AAA and indies). PS Now has a bunch of haphazardly offered games of very varying quality, with lion share of library consisting of stream-only PS2/PS3 oldies. I think the winner is kinda clear here.

Also, 100 titles is an underestimation. It's closer to 400+ by the end of November.

Opinions opinions. The clear winner for me is different. Cheers.

i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling

even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling

LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
