Not sure if this is what you are trying to do but this is what I do. On my 64 gb USB install Medicat with image USB as normal then use mini tool partition 12 (on medicat) to extend the medicat partation by 10gb to give me more space to add iso's if needed. This still allows you to update ventoy if new version is released by downloading it then clicking on update.

The problem that I am facing only happens on a small percentage of computers 10% of the computers that I test on and they are a lot.

On those 10 computers my 256 GB flash disk does not work and shows a GRUB error Mini Bash prompt although the same flash disk works normally on others. I noticed that this is related to partition size (Just on those computers) . When I create a fresh ventoy on my large flash disk it gives the same error so I know it is not a MediCate problem it is a ventoy problem. When I burn the image on the flash disk it works normally but as soon as I move the ventoy partition to the end of the disk (even without resizing the 32 GBs partition.

So the problem as I noticed is on some computers only when the ventoy partition is moved to the end of the flash disk.

I repeat it is not a medicat problem and only happen with some computers 10% with the same working large flash disk.

MediCat USB v20.10.1 is ready on Torrent and magnet link on the first page.

Lots of good changes in this mega release. (I'll upload the files to the filehosts later in the day after I get some rest.)
The new release looks good and you did a fantastic job with the new boot themes. They look great.

Thank you. Unfortunately for me, neither Virtual box nor VMware make it easy to boot from USB, and I'm not sure why... So I couldn't get new screenshots up.

UPDATE: I need to wait until November 1st to update the file hosts' files, because seeding the torrent gobbled up the rest of my monthly data cap. Please Understand.™️

Hi,

Apologies for noob question.
I dual boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu Gnome, so I want to include both in Medicat. I understand Windows_10_x64_en-UK.iso goes into MediCat\OSimages, but where should I drop ubuntu-20.10-desktop-amd64.iso?
[Edit] MediCat\Boot_an_Operating_System works, please ignore me. :)

Thank you!

Hello @Jayro,

we have to wait for a new version or we can take MediCat USB v20.10.1?

Thank you
The torrent and magnet are working, but the Google Drive and Mega links haven't been uploaded yet. So the torrent is your best option for the new version right now. I just hit my monthly data cap from my ISP, so I have to wait until November 1st to upload the new files to those hosts. That's all.

Hi,
I've downloaded the 20.10.

Noticed the different structure from 18.10.
Can't find the MediCat/boot.wim, is renamed?

Don't remember any post related.

Thank you.

Thank you.
Mini Windows 10's boot.wim is in an ISO in the Boot_an_Operating_System folder.

Those old MediCat versions were based on an ISO I generated using SARDU, back when it was free. So you could can download SARDU and generate a new ISO using SARDU's free version, and then add the MediCat files to it using UltraISO. I've had to do it before, so I know it's a working method.
Found an old and forgotten Pen clone with MediCat.

Copy/Pasted the hidden files and the crashed Pen Booted again.
Shut down from Mini10 menu nada again happened.

Previous Workaround didn't work anymore.

--

So,
I'm testing with backups.

Will download Sardu and save the steps.
Also I'll try the new 20.10, being I have 2 3.0 that would suite 18 and 20.

Thank you.

About injecting Drivers to 18.10 I did some test but none of them work yet.

Used ImageX and end up with 3.40Gb Wim :o

You said about EASY DISM, but it seems I need WAIK files.

Found a way to use the needed files instead of download all the Dev Files, many GB.

So,
I'm still on the research for find out to open the Wim for injecting, find the needed driver files, and open the Wim in live format to change Explorer and other settings.

Sometimes 7-zip will let you add files inside the .wim directly, but it only works about half the time. Not sure why... I think it might have something to do with the way 7-zip writes to a TEMP folder first. But 7-zip is usually what I try first.

MediCat USB v20.10.1 has just been released!

This release showcases having two different themes between BIOS and UEFI boot modes. There are different color menu accents for each of the themes, as seen below:

RED means you're booted in BIOS MODE.
BIOS.png

GREEN means you're booted in UEFI MODE.
UEFI.png

The version information in the top left of the screen is not only color-coded as well, but tells you which mode you're in like it always has. I also added the mode to the menu's title at the top, and on the Wallpaper behind the menu. In most cases, you'll be using UEFI mode for booting up these different ISO images on modern computers.

Another big change is the clarity of the menu text. I went through and painstakingly wrote an "alias" in ventoy.json for each of the directories and ISO images, so there aren't [Brackets_and_underscores] in the names anymore. Everything just reads better like it used to on Legacy MediCat. The arrows have also returned in typical MediCat fashion, love them or hate them.

WIP: A new icon for Partition Tools is being worked on, I just didn't have it ready by my release deadline. I wasn't going to halt the new version for a silly icon change, but it should appear in the next major version in November.

try using ntlite to inject drivers into the wim file.

Thank you.

Yesterday found it and after the post, today tested.

:toot::toot:
Finally I've been able to manage to add the Drivers keeping an small Wim, 2Gb.

It works, Intel HD 3000 Graphics now load and I can use a comfortable screen.
USB 3.0 has full support.
:toot::toot:

Still pending to test some other things, and a way to run the Wim as a Live OS, but not sure whether is possible or not.

Thank you!!!

Hi,

Using NTLite, noticed on 18.10, that Languages and Keyboards are still installed.
Also Telemetry enabled.

They are now deleted and disabled and the Mini10 works fine.

Just as a Heads up, in case 20.10 would need the cleaning.
Around 160Mb has been cut.

Thank you.

First of all, thanks for this amazing tool Jayro. It's everything I've wanted in a USB tool and then some. I have kind of a weird issue but not a major one. The start menu button doesn't work for me when booting into mini windows 10. I click on it and nothing happens. I've only had it happen on the last 2 releases but I'm not quite sure how to go about fixing it. Again, thanks for all you do Jayro!

Edit: And of course as soon as I posted this, the start menu started working. Ignore. Keep up the great work Jayro!
