Hello everyone !

First of all, sorry if I'm writing this on the wrong discussion and sorry if this is already answered but I DO NOT HAVE FOUND the solution for this error anywhere and/or understood what the possible solution might be. Also, sorry for my English, not a native speaker so I might make mistakes, hope you all understand this. Lastly, it's my first time writing on a forum (like, for real XD) so sorry for the possible mistakes, please bear with me, I'm like real new to all this stuff.

So, now the main problem, when I try installing a nds game on my hacked 3ds (using FBI), I get this:

Failed to install cia file
result code 0xc8e083fc
level: status (25)
summary: invalid argument (7)
module: AM(32)
des: already exists (1020)

(I hope I didn't miss anything, if so tell me pls)

So, I've been searching all day on the Internet for a solution. From what I could understand (not much really), it has something to do with the title or ticket (don't really know which one).

So long story is: Trying to install the game Mario and Sonic in the Winter Olympic Games, the first try did not work so I tried downloading it from another web, I did all the steps that I do when installing an .nds file (you know, the TWL menu is installed and all, I converted it from .nds to .cia, etc, not the first game I install so I know how to do it) and then, once all the files are on my SD card, I go to FBI and try installing the new .cia for my game and then I got that error. Of course, before trying even to download the game from another web, I've already deleted everything from my 3DS (delete title and ticket, then deleting the .nds files I get from the forwarder) so I don't really know what went wrong.

Also, last thing, I've read somewhere that a solution might be changing the ID but I have no idea what they are referring to so if you know what that is about and that could fix the problem, please tell me.

And that would be all, thank you so much beforehand and also sorry for any troubles this may cause to the mods or something.

Go to FBI/Tickets and press A on any random ticket. Then select the option to erase all unused tickets.
Will this erase the tickets from games that I've installed but I haven't been able to play just yet? Like I have a couple of games that I want to play and I installed them but I haven't even started them, you know what I mean?

Sorry this is the third time I quote you XD You must think that I'm bothering you on purpose but I swear that's not the case. I have another problem. Now I have the same icon as if I had the game but with no image at all (not the first time this happens), so I deleted everything as I should but the icon does not dissapear and I noticed that I have already experienced this as I have 2 more icons with no image at all and I don't know how to erase those, could you give me any advice pls?

Try to use "Cthulhu" to clean the cached icons on HOME Menu:

If the last suggestion about "Cthulhu" doesn't work, then your issue can be caused by the actual files in the "title" folder being erased while the "dbs" files remain the same. If the game with the blank icon loads properly, then you know this isn't the case. If they don't load properly, then you need to reinstall them.

Just clarify that if you delete/reinstall a title (game) its savedata is deleted too. Then, is recommended to make a savedata backup if it's possible

I don't really mind about that because if a game goes with the blank icon, it always means that it won't work so I directly erase them and then I try again, so I don't really have any save data (I hope I understood this correctly)

I don't think I quite understand what you say. I mean, whenever I get a game with blank icon, I directly erase it so it usually would erase the icon too. But that's not the case with those 2 times I mentioned and I have no way to know which games were, so are you suggesting that I should try to load the games?

In some (a bit of) cases, save data of a damaged/problematic installed game remains and it's possible (try) to backup that save data using Checkpoint or JKSM.

This can be a dumb question, but that blank icon you said could be the related/referred to the card game slot one, perharps?

Okay, and why would I want to do it? I'm sorry if this is dumb but I want to make sure I understand what I'm about to do

Yes, I mean, when you install a game, you get an icon of the game on the menu right? Like a picture of the game (usually a character appears, it's like the "carátula" of the game )When I say "blank icon", I refer to that game but without any image.

Ya
Yes, try to load them.

Okay, I did as you said. None of them worked, I got the same error in both cases and then I had to turn off the 3DS.

Then (and better) put an image of your actual HOME Menu, to see with more accuracy what could be your problem. Also an image of your installed 3DS/DSiWare content on "Gestión de datos" option.

It could be because a lot of reasons, but is better to have all specific clues, if you will obviously (if you don't, then ignore this advice)

Okay right now I can't do that but I'll make sure to upload one as soon as possible.

By the way, I just want to clarify something since it seems I may have been rude to you somehow: I am REALLY grateful to both of you for your help and for taking the time to explain and try to help me the best you can, really. English is not my first language so if I, by any chance, say something that may sound rude or something like that, please tell me so because I probably think that it is not rude when it is actually pretty rude or something like that

Those white blank icons are DSiWare games that are either missing or corrupted. These games are not installed on the SD card.

For safety, backup all your DSiWare titles and saves.
  1. GodMode9 → (HOME) button → Scripts...CTRTransfer (Type D9) - DSiWare CIAs & Saves → Backup CIAs & Saves
    • sdmc:/gm9/scripts/CTRTransfer (Type D9).gm9
Then, delete any DSiWare titles with '?' icons in,

2. System Settings → Data Management DSiWare → System Memory

If you notice any games are missing or any were mistakenly uninstalled or deleted, reinstall the CIAs and restore the saves.

3. FBISDgm9/out → <date>_<serial>_dsiware_000 <current directory> Install all CIAs
4. ... → DSiWare CIAs & SavesRestore Saves

Yeah, you're appointing to the right clue... Indeed, she explains to me the situation a bit better (via PM), and apparently the mysterious blank icons seem to be DS forwarders

HAHAHAHAHAHA I'm SO sorry that I forgot to mention that they were DS games and the fact that I use forwarders, I will follow TurdPooCharger instructions later and I will inform you of the results as soon as I can XD

P.D: Professor Layton and the Mysterious Blank Icons, soon in your stores

HAHAHAHAHAHA
