Hello guys!

So i found this Wii with all equipment at flee market and i bought it for a 8,50€ ! How cool is that?! :)
Well right now i'm cleaning it and disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol to kill all the germs and s*it!

So anyway, i tested it out and its in perfect physical condition and it works flawlessly.
I tested my Metroid Other M original game and disc drive is also perfect!
In fact, this this Wii was hardly used/played at all, as fr as i can tell!

So anyway, it's 3.3E and as far as i can tell it's NOT hacked, some kid used it i think.
But just in case (if it's needed) how can i be sure it's not hacked?

And since i DO want it fully hacked, home-brew enabled, Nintendont, external drive etc.
Can you guys please recommend me the most easiest and best way today how Wii's are hacked?
I haven't done this in ages and i'm totally outdated!

Well that's all i wanted to ask, and to share with you~
Pretty sweet bargain, i'm so happy i got out today haha! :yaywii:

Oh i remember that one back in the day. That's still relevant, didn't know!

Should i first make a NAND backup?

As for the SD, i bought it without one, but i do have a spare one...But i did found a "Wii Sport" in disc tray x)
Damn, i wish it was Metroid Trilogy~

Ok im tottaly confused on how to use this Mod Mii.

So i downloaded everything needed but its stuck/froze on "this software must not be sold..."screen on Wii.
When i see guide that was generated on my PC it said:

"Note: "If it doesn't work for you, visit http://bannerbomb.qoid.us/ "

And so i went there, and i saw this:
rAFBkyt.png

So up there on that pic its saying "This software is SEVERLY outdated.....update to latest firmware"

So i'm confused, should i continue with this, generate new guide and files, or update or....
what the heck DO i do?
Can someone PLEASE tell tell me how the heck do i hack my Wii the easy way and what i'm doing wrong?

Try Modmii's hackmii solutions guide. Or u can update officially to 4.3 and it SHOULD be fine, I got the feeling this wii was modded before and some remnants of previous softmods is the more likely cause of your issues. I believe the modmii guide suggests the hackmii installer as well in case issues on this step are encountered

Edit: if the wii was originally Korean and region changed to whatever other region, an official update could lead to 003 brick. Updating these wii's is fine using modmii but official updates run this slim risk. If u decide to go down this road, I suggest u at the very least check your serial number to see if it was once upon a time Korean

Why do you say "it SHOULD be fine" because of brick if its out of region you mean ??

No it' s from Germany, its European Wii. Cant be 100% sure but i'm pretty sure.
As for if it was modded before...i also cant be sure but it looked clean to me and some kid played it barely.

I formatted it in settings though to be clean....could that be the problem for freeze screen?

As for serial...how can i tell?

I see.
Well i checked and it's "LEHXXXXX" oh its also saying (EUR) on a sticker!
So i guess i can rule out the Korean Wii....

Ill go with what you sugested than, the hackmii solution.

Try Modmii's hackmii solutions

So i re-downloaded "hackmi + guide" files with "modmii" software, transferred all the files to an SD,
and when i got to "wii channels" in "settings" and ran it from "SD", it opened up an "MMM"....

EDIT: I finally entered without freezing. So does that mean it was indeed hacked previously?

EDIT_2: So i guess if HBC is now installed, i can continue with previous guide, correct?
I mean when i installed bootMii as an IOS it was saying "preparing SD card" should i keep some files and replace with previous ones?

Also i'm not sure what i did but i installed BootmMii as an IOS...

it's saying this now:
BootMii: Can only be installed as an IOS
The installed boot1 version prevents a boot2 install (-2)

Just follow the Modmii guide that was generated after you answered the questions. It really is that simple. Modmii is probably still the most user-friendly way to mod a console. Way easier than installing Atmosphere on the Switch... and Atmosphere is not that hard to understand.

The bootmii folder u generated using the hackmii installer is newer that the one downloaded from modmii (newest version isn't hosted on bootmii.org). The older version still works just fine for making backups, and gets updated if found when INSTALLING bootmii. Long story short, keep this folder, everything else u can use what came with the main modmii wizard

I mean..it is easy..sort of.
But just because it's easyER than switch modding (which i heard is pain in the a** i heard) that doesn't make it easy.
For beginners everything is hard, trust me, especially if you want to know what you're doing (at least to some degree) and if you're scared and want clarification.
I searched Google, Wii.guide, reddit, Discord to get some basic question answered so i can make decision based on what i want and because it didn't went so smooth.

XFlak helped me by answering, some things i understood some i didnt, but thats just the nature of this thing.
It's not like official user manual whenre everything is simple and straight forward. This path is a biit curwy and you cant go around forums and asking questions.

You cant expect people not to use forums and ask questions because some software is "easy to use".
That's so relative term.

But thank for replying!
