Hello, quick question,
Does anyone know if it is possible to mod an Animal Crossing New Horizons Limited Edition Nintendo Switch? I've been playing with an unpatched unit since the switch's release and have not really followed the hacking scene in regards to new switch models. I do not know what iPatched, Mariko, etc. means (or what category this switch would fall under) and I know that SX seems to no longer be a thing (or do they still do modchips and activations?)....so do I have any options?
Please let me know,
Thank you,

Acnh switch edition=mariko (red box).

Does anyone know if it is possible to mod an Animal Crossing New Horizons Limited Edition Nintendo Switch?
Without a modchip...nope. Only tx modchip would work. But their chips are hard to get atm.

If the modchip is installed, any way to use atmosphere?

Also for a v0 switch (release day purchase), any way to use the SX Pro dongle to boot into atmosphere and not SX OS?
Actually, just want to use cheats in offline games to avoid grinding (like xenoblade Chronicles).

Thank you.

Nope. Not atm. But sciresm works already for the mariko support.

The dongle itself can't boot another payload. You can chainload atmosphere through the sx os menu.

Thank you for the response, do you know if I'd need sx core or sx lite?
Switch Lite=SX Lite
Regular Switch=SX Core

Thanks for the response.
Quick question: I've never backed up my nand and I only use the SX OS for cheats (I plug in the sx Pro dongle at every reboot to boot into it ie. no auto rcm or something of the sort). It boots normally into the official firmware.
Do I need to back it up? Also how do I know if the nand is clean?

Your nand is clean as long as you don't use unsigned code in the ofw. However, is a nand backup never wrong. It doesn't matter if you use cfw only for cheats or savegame editing.

Thanks for the information everyone, I'd love to install sx core in my new v2 switch but wow! That soldering looks difficult. Not sure I'd trust myself and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a single person willing to install it for me in my province. Guess it's a no go
Thanks Anyway
