any updates on the nds - bootstrap issue i mentioned before?
nds-bootstrap development currently is on hold, aside from the commits that add Slot-2 emulation for certain games.

Ah yes the infamous "unlock stuff using a Gba game" option, mostly used for Pokemon.

Edit: Some games just won't work well on the Sd card, unfortunately.

Advice, try running an uncompressed version of the DS game, as that improves compatibility on some games. Unfortunately that won't fix the graphic glitches, just make it less likely to crash.

Hi! I've just signed in on this site to ask for help.
I've a 3DS XL and a R4i Gold (2014) for 3DS to play DS games. I tried to play Radiant Historia but I found out there's an AP which doesn't load but just restart the game. Searching for a solution, I found out this Twilight Menu++ and I tried to install it on my flashcard following the guide but I miserably failed. I've got just a black screen. First of all, I didn't understand if I' have to format or not my SD before installing Twilight Menu. So, this is what I've done:
- I leaved what I suppose was firmware's original files (__rpg folder, _DS_MENU.dat, r4.DAT)
- I copied the _nds folder, the BOOT.NDS file and the roms folder on the SD root
- I copied what's in Flashcard Loader / R4iDSN & R4i Gold RTS on the SD root (__rpg folder, _wfwd folder, _DS_MENU.dat, Wfwd.dat) replacing the files with the same name.
- then I turned on my 3DS, launched the flashcard and...black screen.
What did I do wrong? (T w T)
Sorry but I'm terrible with this little hacking things, I'm a total ignorant...

Go here to ask about your card and backup then update.

Try using YSmenu and or TTMenu:

Do you mean I should update my flashcard's firmware before doing anything?

I've just tried to install the YSmenu (fomatting my SD) but what i've got was a black screen with a "loading..." on top screen lol

Re-do the widescreen steps.
for more information it looks like half the bottom screen and the screen has like shifted left right and looks like a glitch. I have updated twilight and I redo the same steps, and I just try to do the same installing multiple times and it just stays glitched. The twlbg file appears in luma modules and it just becomes glitched out. What should i do?

Well, on my last post I commented everything was working but... widescreen seems to not be aplied to the Flashcard games, only the 3DS SD ones, on MISC is 16:10 enabled, but when I open the Rom options the aspect ratio of the game doesn't appear, and running the games are in 4:3 but expaned. the widescreen only works on the SD for now?

I'm using Russian language with DSi theme but top screen text "L Previous" and "Next R" still in English.
Those aren't translatable right now as currently text rendering on the top screen is very limited in the DSi theme, I plan to try improve that at some point if Robz or someone else doesn't first, but it requires some major changes to TWiLight's rendering for what I want to do so I haven't gotten around to it... Those can be changed with custom skins currently if you want to change them yourself

Did you try to boot directly into YSmenu or what?

First, backup, then update the flashcard firmware to the latest avaliable. Then copy YSmenu to the card and try to boor it as a nds room.

If it doesn't boot like that then your card is not compatible with it.

If it boots load a game with YSmenu and try to save it, it can't then your are doomed. If it can then using YSmenu works good enough in your card.

Alternatively there is a program to convert NDS files to be compatible with certain flashcards but has not updated in ages and it doesn't work in every game.

What I tried was format, then copy the original firmware of my flashcard and YSmenu on the SD because I didn't find the firmware update. In the guide topic for the YSmenu all the site for my R4i Gold weren't available. Is my flashcard just too old? Or do I missed up the right site to dowload the update?

Look at your card box.

Copy the url on it.

Go here:
https://archive.org/web/

Paste the url and see if the page is saved.

Try to find the latest firmware from one of the newest saved pages.

Okay, I foud the site and dowloaded the latest firmware update (even if it's from 2012). I have to download the kernel too? And then what's next? Should I format the SD, put the old firmware, update it and then try again installing YSmenu?
