So I just got a new battery for my new n3ds xl. its on latest firmware and using Luma3ds v10.2.
my battery dropped from 98% to 90 in about 10min is this normal or is this HW/SW issue?
What all were you doing with the 3ds and what settings does the console have active?

Oh, it's nice Nintendo restocked the SPR-003 batteries. There have been on and off shortages of this since last year. COVID-19 lockdown in mid late-March didn't help. I remember seeing that battery was pulled of the shelf at one point (no listing in the 3DS replacement parts page).

Maybe the one you received was a leftover from a batch made years ago. Since the 3DS family is official discontinued and all production has ceased, it would make sense for Nintendo to collect all of them laying around in their supplier's factory to sell off.

Do you or another person (family, friend) that you know has another o3DSXL or n3DSXL? To rule this out as a bad battery, use it on another 3DS XL and observe for fast draining behavior.

nope im the only 3ds user i just know this battery isnt bloated
A Li-ion battery that looks brand new and isn't bloated doesn't necessarily mean it's a fresh battery. The clock starts ticking the moment that battery leaves the factory. Like putting potatoes away in long term storage (perfect conditions: cool, dry, dark), they will eventually sprout shoots and spoil.

EDIT - There isn't a good way to know you got a old battery unless it's tested on another (o/n)3DSXL, or you happen to have another SPR-003 battery that happens to last longer on your n3DSXL.

Illinois is working to ban toxic food additives that have been banned for decades in other countries; additives that can be replaced and all those countries still have Skittles and Mountain Dew. Title of the piece: GUBMINT WANTS TO TAKE AWAY YOUR CANDY

@Veho, Sounds and smells like bullshit. They don't give you cancer, and California should know that. I don't get why they stick labels that say "may or may not cause reproductive harm or cancer".

Arsenic doesn't give you cancer either.

California has already banned those additives BTW.
