Hi, i'm planing to hack my switch in a near future and i'm preparing everything for making no error.

I have bought a jig on ebay but I have read some jig can scratch the pins and make some damages.

I'm not sure if I can post the link of the ebay article so I will just show the images. Here is the jig I have bought (this is the images on ebay)

Someone know if there is a way to be sure the jig is safe in the long term ? If I can do something else to make the jig safer ?

Looks to be the same mass produced chinese shit everyone gets. I got mine for ~70cents on aliexpress. Works fine. You're probably going to want to turn autoRCM on anyways, which means you'll pretty much never need it paste the setup

Hey thanks, I got mine for 2$ but if the cheap chinese shit work without problem for you I guess I don't need to worry
I don't plan to put autorcm because I have read some bad stuff on it tho

I am against using autorcm but to answer your question if you use your jig 10 times each week expect some wear and tear I would normally use my jig once a week but I havent touched my switch in almost a month.

Theres nothing wrong with autorcm but it isn't for me I am a atmosphere and sxos user

Buy a proper mass produced jig, like the one RCMloader sells (recommend to buy a RCMloader One dongle, it comes with the jig and has a built in slot to hold it, about $12 on AliExpress), it will last longer as the pins are not just made of bent wire, and is safe.

About the autorcm, it is just a rumour or can we really get banned from that ?

I‘m using autorcm since 2 years and never had any problems with it ;)

Are you doing the update in the normal way on the sysnand ?
Never been banned?
What happen when your battery is dead?

Yeah i'm not confortable to use autorcm but not confortable either with using a cheap jig 10 times each week (probably even more since online is important for me and I will go on sysnand quite often).

Mhh, for some personnals reasons I can't buy a new jigs now so I really don't know what i'm gonna do

Anyway you probably can't harm your Switch with a wire based jig, the wires are just soft and will bend out of shape easily.

Even if I use it really frequently ? What do you think about the jigs I have posted?
Then you'll have to bend the wires back maybe every 10 injects, maybe less, maybe more, or sometimes you might notice the jig not working reliably, because the wires got bent out of shape. The wire will bend long before the pins in the rail.

Looks like just another wire based jig.

Thanks, can I know what you are currently using ? A good jig or autorcm?

I have a cheap jig and I can attest this is bullshit. Works fine, no need to pay 12bucks for some something that costs 30c at most to manufacture

@Kanakops
I use a jig what I normally do is just use it once and just keep my switch charged for a week when I'm finish I cut it off. I avoid using autorcm because on rare occasions the switch will not respond well and be stuck in RCM mode. I knew a few guys to sell their switches because they couldn't remove the rcm and think they actually bricked their systems.

The thing is I will switch frequently on sysnand/emunand/ because I want to do a lot of "non legit stuff who can get me banned' on the emunand but I want to play online in smash too. So I will be unfortunately forced to use it every time I want to go on my emunand. I don't want to damage my pins in the really long term but I don't want to getting any type of problem related to the rcm and if i'm in a situation I can't boot my switch (even if it's not bricked) I will panic really fast because I will think it is the case.

Ahh okay I see I have a switch lite that is dedicated for legit play... it all boils down to how long will you play online vs playing offline. The fact of the matter as long as you do the jig gently you will have no problems. The only time I use auto RCM is when I am updating my emmunand my synand on both of my CFW switches are still 9.2.0
