Hi guys!

So i played 'Need for Speed the run" when it came out, i was impressed with graphics, smooth transitions from race to story to race again,
and i was even more impressed how adventurous the game feels and big when you race across the whole freaking USA!

In my honest opinion that game needs a complete graphical and technical remake to fit the modern visuals and hardware!

So anyway, since i played that game and i'm looking something more realistic like for example "Forza horizon 4" (visually), but to be game-play vise
like NFS the run, the way i just describe it above...
So open world, seamless game-play, big, adventures racing game like NFS the run was...with modern visuals ofc!(read beautiful visuals...i like to enjoy the view)

i don't want to spend my money just to be disappointment so i asked here first..perhaps some of you guys played those games and you have more experience to compare other racing games to nfs the run and give me a suggestion... :)

The Run was open world? You mean like GTA?

There are some that come to mind: Burnout Paradise, Underground 2, Test Drive Unlimited, Most Wanted (2005), Most Wanted (2012), and Driver San Francisco.

nfs carbon,
nfs most wanted(2005 and 2012),
nfs 2015,
nfs underground 2
forza horizon 1, 2, 3 and 4,
midnight club 3,
midnight club LA
nfs undercover
burnout paradise
the crew
the crew 2

there's more, but they're lacking in quality compared to the ones i mentioned above
i've also got a lot that aren't open world, but are also good, i won't mention them unless you want me to

the run isn't open world, it's instanced, but it was back to back progression so it sort of felt like a vast open world map. closest i can think of to "across the us racing" is the crew 1 and 2

-Yes, please!

"the run isn't open world, it's instanced, but it was back to back progression so it sort of felt like a vast open world map."
-Yeah exactly what i meant, the game is so seamless, no result screens or maps, it feels like one big game where every new track is a open world where you race many cars across whole america, and it has a story.

Thanks for suggestions, ill check them out!
I checked "the crew" first since you said "closest i can think of to across the us racing is the crew 1 and 2"...i just had to see that and it looks fantastic and feels big..but does it have plot or just arcade type of a game?

As for older games i wont check them since older games dont look so modern visually...i just love to enjoy beautifull scenery :}

the crew 1 has a story but it's fairly dumb, the crew 2 is hipster garbage, more just arcade racing and customization. the world is basically an abbreviated version of the entire US map, but it's also an MMO, so it might also not be your thing.

as for good games that aren't open world,
project gotham racing 1, 2, 3 and 4. they're fairly old, but the graphics are waaay ahead of their time
forza motorsport 4+
project cars 1/2
dirt 1, 2, 3, 4, dirt rally and dirt showdown, these are rally games, but they're faily fun to control
grid 1, 2, autosport and 2019, they're mix between sim and arcade
flatout 2 and ultimate carnage
grip combat racing, this one might not suit you, since it's more of a cart racer type of thing, neat type of concept
horizon chase turbo is like a modern take on outrun, fairly fun and looks good, very stylized
need for speed hot pursuit 2010, still looks really good, if you're playing on PC though i'd suggest using an external program like reshade to add some sort of AA
wreckfest is like a modern take on flatout

i tried to leave out the older games, since you said you weren't really interested

i have way too many racing games

"Crash Time" is a good one, too. I remember playing it on my 360 for an hour and the funny thing is, it was just the demo. It had so much replay value.

Well... Since you got already many good suggestions I have nothing new to recommend you. But I can tell you one game to avoid at all cost. Driveclub!
Good graphics but this is the only good thing about the game. This game is the worst racing game I played in my life. Feels like demo game and really boring. I'm glad no one mentioned this game here. Although playing this game in vr is pretty fun (for 10 mins and then you want to puke).

good god drive club was an abysmal experience. worst mistake i've made when it comes to racing games by far

Oh, I'd highly recommend NFS ProStreet. It's a simcade.

You're better playing the 360/PS3/PC version because while the PS2 is good, the car velocity is so fast you lose sense of what you're seeing around you (makes it easier with widescreen and clean HD graphics).

there is a patch, by updating to windows 10, there's literally no reason to stay on an old insecure outdated os lol, especially if you prefer to only play newer games

I meant patch or hack for a game, so i can play it on 7. I don't want to use windows 10.
Is your issue with Windows 10 that updates automatically download? You can delay them for up to a month.

I tend to update when I'm near to reaching the limit, and then delay to the absolute max. I could turn it off, but it's not recommended.

that's a pretty dumb reason to willingly stay insecure and out of date tbh
It's actually reat reason cause windows 7 is far superios system for productivity and compatibility.

But that wasn't the topic...
Anyway, thanks for suggestions. To bad i cant play Forza 4, it looks really awesome!
