can i ask, on github you sometimes post notes about not using the updater to update twilightmenu++ but it will show recent updates available. whats the issue with that? what does it not do for the reason to not use it? only asking because sometimes my sd card reader messes up sometimes so i try not to use it as often as possible

Past versions weren't able to update properly.

Hi everyone,

It's been almost a year since I updated the app (before AP patches and widescreen) and I was wondering:

1. since I already have prepared AP patched ROMs, will there be a conflict with the new version of the app? If so, can the AP patch folder be deleted from the files? I'd rather not have to look for and test new ROMs if I could avoid it.

2. Similar to question 1, can widescreen folders be safely deleted if I don't intend to use the feature? Same with themes etc.

Basically I love the app for its basic function, and I'm wondering what's safe for me to remove from the folders and keep things lite.

Cheers

1. There should be no conflict. Delete the folder, if there is.

2. Yes.

@Robz8 I hate to ask if someone else has, but is there anyway to port Twilight++ to Nintendo Switch? I find Retroarch so...lacking in comparison to your emulator with DS games
TWiLight Menu++ (and nds-bootstrap) aren't emulators.
The GUI itself could be ported though.

sorry to mispeak @Robz8- don't mean to downplay your work, but would the engine itself work to play and run cheats, etc? melonds standalone leaves a lot to be desired, and RetroArch is still recovering.

Better question- are you willing?

Since I don't plan on hacking my Switch, nope.

Hi, question about upping the clock speed and/or the ram trough twilight settings while in ds mode.

Shouldnt this actually not work?

I thought only the dsi mode allowed access to the higher specs of the dsi.

So if my settings were to be:
Mode: DS mode
ARM9 clock: 133mhz
vram boost: on

wouldnt the DS mode limit clock and vram anyway?

Same question if i turned the settings around. So DSI mode with lower clock speed and no vram boost.
which setting will actually be the overruling setting?
Or isnt there one?

Thanks

TWL clock speed and VRAM boost will work fine with DS mode.
In the per-game settings menu, when setting DSi mode, TWL clock speed and VRAM boost will always be used.

I know the wood theme was removed and hasn't been added back yet, but is there any alternative view for files? Every theme shows them one by one horizontally and that takes forever to sift through if you have a lot of games. Is there anything like the wood theme that can do this?

Yes. The Original R4 and GBC themes can do this.

Bit confused on how to load this via Flashcart (I want to play Golden Sun Dark Dawn with widescreen patch).
This is the flash cart I have, but I don't see it listed anywhere:

Do I need YSmenu as well?
Yes, that's required to run Golden Sun.
Also, you need to patch the ROM with the widescreen code using DSATM, as YSMenu will not load cheats, if ROM is set as autoboot path (by TWLMenu++).
What about the original flash cart files (I believe it was Wood R4), do I keep or delete those?
Keep those in case.
