I have gotten a recent PS4 original launch system with firmware 2.xx on it. Just looking for some advice on which CFW/Jailbreak/Firmware would u recommend to install/stay on?

I needed a lot of help as well with the ps4 when I first tried to exploit it. I knew how to self-host, but I wasn't sure how best to go about it when it came to being offline completely. I also wasn't sure about hotspots, but now I have a hotspot for my psp since it can't use wpa2. it's connected to my cellphone.

WTF, noooooooo :P
Not 6.72, give 5.05 a chance... much more stable^^
Mmmh, wouldn't it be better to be on a more recent firmware for more games to run?
I know you can "downpatch" them like you can do for Switch games but I'd still imagine more games are playable on 6.72 than on 5.05 and for stability: 6.72 has become pretty stable and with time going on it'll become even more stable I guess.

Never been on 5.05 though so I can't say anything about it. Just hacked my buddy's PS4 which was above 5.05 anyway so I took it to 6.72 and everything worked out pretty easily.

ive been in the hacking scene for years and hacked plenty of ps4s, with the release of 6.72 I had a 7.02 lying around waiting for the webexploit to come out when this PS4 which needed a HDMI port repair came in had 2.xx on it so I ended up trading the customer for my 7.02 cause I didn’t want to wait, so didn’t know with such a low firmware is there a better CFW /OFWI should go to or is the system better off straight to 6.72

5.05 is considered better than 6.72, but it has some trouble with higher firmware games. it's less prone to kernel panics, black screens, and it usually works first try. it's also more supported like 3.60 on the vita compared with 3.65. both are good, but one has better support.

Wasn't enough into it to know this. Then I take my advice back. :)

If you are skilled with hot air/soldering it might even be worth backing up while on low fw so you can revert back. it wouldnt serve any purpose now but could be handy or wanted by others if it were for sale

Nah... Go with 5.05 "FOR NOW" because it is way more stable. You can play 6.72 back ported games on 5.05 so go with 5.05. Be warn that some 6.72 games of backported aren't working at all for 5.05

Wait for 6.72 to be better stable like 5.05.

What’s the best/bang for buck reader nowadays in the scene?

I mainly use it just for backups so can u back port all games at the moment
there's some that currently can't be, because they pose various problems. they're shit games based on the list. I think the list of games that won't backport correctly is on @KiiWii 's defaultdnb's github site with the firmware of games and whatnot.
