Just bought my PS Vita today! It's a PCH-1003. I've already installed CFW 3.60 HENkaku/enso + Adrenaline. And I'm lovin' it! :D

Now I just need no buy a new memory card with a large capacity, as the one that came with the console is the 4GB version from Sony.

Thanks a lot to everyone that shared their thoughts in this post. It helped me to made my decision.

No regrets so far!
Don't forget to get an SD2Vita adapter and a micro SD card, as the prices of the OEM memory cards are high and with less storage capacity...

You don't have to buy a huge memory card, keep your actual one as a backup and look at SD2Vitas ;)

Yeah, I've got all excited and just ordered a SD2Vita from Amazon and a micro SD (128GB). Now I need to learn the best way to add game backups.

Any tips? :D

pkgj is probably the most convenient. it downloads and installs the games through the normal method, the bgdl.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've installed 2 games in my Sony's 4GB memory card while I'm waiting for my SD2Vita and new SD Card that arrive tomorrow, I hope...

I've also installed a couple of homebrew apps, like PKGj, Vita Homebrew Browser, Autoplugin and Autoplugin 2.

Do you know how I can clear the cache from PKGj? Every time I open it it takes a lot of memory from my memory card and that is not being restored back for some reason.

I have also another question: once the Adrenaline is installed and working, can I delete the file 661.pbp (the original firmware) from the PSPEMUCFW folder? Or is it needed there to make Adrenaline work?

Many thanks! :)

I don't understand your first question. what do you mean taking memory from your memory card? do you mean that you delete something and it doesn't come back?

yes, you can delete the file. I update adrenaline today, and I deleted the file as well.

Every time I open PSGj, it sucks a considerable amount of memory from my memory card when loading the lists, like a loading cache from a web browser. But these portions of memory don't come back and I can't find any option to clear the cache in the app. At this stage, I only have 79.94MB of space left. And this keeps decreasing while I load new lists of games. I'm not downloading anything, just browsing.

I've deleted the 661.pbp now too, thanks. :)

the cache lists are in the pkgi folder iirc. I don't know why you keep losing data.

Unless it will happen during the first few times of use and will stop at some point. Not sure. But it would be great if it stopped! Because it's getting annoying. And my memory is reaching its limit.

As soon as I get the SD2Vita and the SD Card, I will be able to manage my space better. 4GB is not enough when you want to enjoy the Vita to its full potential! :D

1 - Make sure to not use Autoplugin, it can corrupt your config, needs to be updated on every plugin update and doesn't even download the plugins but instead is bundling them.
2 - Your cache can be deleted (see previous comments), make also sure to clean your "bgdl folder on your memory card as it can contain some residues from failed installation (can give you a lot of space back) (keep the bgdl folder but delete everything inside it, it will be recreated when needed)
3 - Yes you can delete the firmware PUP, you can update Adrenaline inside the PSP system settings anyways.

Really? Wooow, I didn't know that! Thanks for the advice. I've installed both Autoplugin and Autoplugin 2, but didn't use them yet. The plugins I have were installed manually and work just fine! But is good to know. :grog:

About the cache, what do you mean with "see previous comments"? I'll make sure I empty the bgdl folder regularly. Thanks. :)

I've updated Adrenaline to the new version reinstalling everything as it was the first time, but then I've read that you can update one of the folders that has the update content and keep the rest. Otherwise I'll have to setup everything all the time as it was the first setup.
