Hi, how where you able to get it back??
I want to build a stacked SD card with sx emunand + atmosphere, ubuntu and andriod. I already got the ubuntu and andriod part ready but im stuck in writing the emunand. I managed to convert my emunand as files but i dont know how to write to sd after following directions. Nothing seems to happen when i select my sd card. Op please help?
So, I've never used emunand before. I'm on a dirty sysnand and i want to do some "experiments" on my oldest, clean backup.
If i understood correctly, using this tool i should be able to create an emunand on any sdcard directly from my backup. Is that right?
Do i need to do anything on the system or sd card prior to using this program? Also, i'm pretty sure that the original backup was on ofw 4.1 without exfat support... How should i prepare my card for that to work?

How big is your partition size? Make sure is equal too or bigger than the nand file sizes your copying.
You can check it with a software called MiniTool Partition Wizard

Yeah you can pretty much use any backup nand you created previous or newer to any sd card you want too just make sure you got enough space before attempting cuz it'll create a new partition in the sd card that takes up partial of the main storage size.

How do i create a partition for sx emunand? I have one small partion in front of sd card, HOS_DATA after, then the partions to boot andriod/ubuntu.
I tried creating a partion but it got combined with the andriod/ubuntu...idk what im doing..
To use Emunand with SXOS you have to create a non partitioned empty space of 29GB at the beginning of the SD card, every other partition must start after the 29GB empty space. So the first partition on SD have to start after 29Gb, than you can use Emutool to copy your backup on this empty space setting sxos as target (remember to activate Partition Emunand after restore is finished).

No, sorry. It works only with standard image size.Does it work with a resized emuNAND? I am getting error:
(Watch the statusbar to see it didn't fail at the beggining). I started it as Administrator.
Can you add support for smaller/bigger emuNAND? Thanks in advance.
At the moment I suggest you to do a copy with a tools like win32diskimager and then expand the Fat partition with a partitioning tool like Minitool Partition.
I'm trying to find the time to correct bugs and add features, but I'm not able to.
If someone have some spare time, let me know.

Hi, recently I did get in trouble, I don't know how the "Hidden" partition of my SD Card got visible on Windows and Windows Wrote the infamous "System Volume Information" folder on it, then guess what: the switch never boot on EmuMMC again, I did use EmuTool to restore a previous Backup made exporting the Hidden Partition to Atmosphére file, and the error continues ;(
Then I use a partitioning program to delete the damaged partition, and use Hetake to make a new EmuMMC partition, then restore again the backup and all works fine.
I supposed some information of the partition is no backed up, information corrupted by windows "repairing" the partition.
¿there is any possibility of be able to backup all information needed to recreate the partition in case of a catastrophic failure as mine?
in between I did use the backed up folder copied to the principal FAT Partition of my SD and edited the INI files and the EmuMMC works as a folder instead a partition. was cool know what i don't loose all my information Thanks a lot for your great effort.

How do I actually check if I even have hidden emunands (sx os)? I had various microSD cards and now for some of them im not sure if I have them "hidden or not"?

It is a raw copy, so it should replace every single byte starting from the starting sector number. It shouldn't matter how the partition is set up, Atmosphere should ignore it and read directly from that sector indicated in emummc.ini.
I need to check, but if this is not the case than No, to do so I need to implement partitioning functions that are too long to write for me.
You can recreate a new partition also with the same partitioning tool you used to delete the broken partition and then restore on it with Emutool, no need to do a passage in the switch.
Starting some version ago Hekate supports emunand backup/restore directly on the switch if you have enough free space, but to restore you need to copy backup files from pc on sd after partitioning so double time to copy and to restore.
Most partitioning tools have Copy Partition or Partition Backup feature, they can copy and restore partition information too, or you can use win32diskimager for Windows or DD for Linux and Mac and make a full backup of the entire SD.
Put the sd in the pc, if you have some full.xx.bin files in the /sxos/Emunand folder it is likely that you have an Emunand on file, if you have no files in that folder, but you are sure there is an emunand then it is on hidden partition.
To be sure, you can open Emutool, set sxos hidden partition as source and select the SD card. Two buttons appears below that tell you if the emunand on partition is enabled or not.
Warning! If you click the button you write the info on the SD without notice, so use it only to read the state, don't touch until you know what you're doing

Thanks a lot. I think Windows Mess with the MBR of the SD card, I am investigating how to recreate the partitions using minitool partition tool and let you know.

So, you are telling me if I just click on disable I will do some changes to it? What if I click enable again, are the changes reverted back to normal? And yeah.... your assumptions are real

BTW by cloning the SD cards, is it true 1:1 copy (byte to byte, sector to sector including even bad sectors if they exist) because as far as im aware, win32diskimager doesnt makes the exact same copies each time.... the images are different, arent they? What tool can make true 1:1 copies/clones?
EDIT: I solved it....
Basically:
1. Formated a new SD card to FAT 32 (like new, removing all partitions, both visible and hidden), put the boot.dat and licence for SX OS on it
2. Created an Emutendo folder and placed to my microsd card
3. Placed the microsd card in my Switch and started: create new emunand and canceled it as soon as it dumped the boot1 nd boot2 like you suggested @TheyKilledKenny
HINT: a messeage appears saying that the emunand is not created, I ignored it because it actually was created, just the backup/dumping was canceled
4. Placed the microsd card from my Switch to PC and using your tool Emutool I was able to flash my old backup which I created way back with SX OS MENU from: "sx os files" as source to: "hidden emunand partition" as target.
5 Put microsd to Switch and I was able to boot to SX OS CFW
EDIT 2:
Should mention that I was on exfat back then before this fiasco.... now im on FAT32

Did you checked if you have exfat driver in your emunand?
If not, you can update the firmware including exfat driver using choidujour, there are no problem includin the exfat driver even if not used.

Hi, I back up my hidden partition to my PC, and I try to use the emutool and restore to a new SD card, but it is giving me a BOOT0 not found, but it is there.
So I thought I need to create that hidden partition thru sx os menu and cancel it right at boot1 & 2, but still the same error message, did I miss something? thanks!
Edit: I am an idiot, I need to point to the Emunand folder, instead sxos folder.

Yes, only the current active partition is detected.
Nice, discover all hidden partition emunand is one of the feature I'll add one day.
